Scott Township is one of eight townships in Vanderburgh County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 8,528 and it contained 3,343 housing units. In recent years, Scott Township has become one of the fastest-growing townships in the county. Scott Township was organized in 1821, and named for Samuel Scott, an early settler. McCutchanville, Indiana
McCutchanville is an unincorporated community in Center Township, Vanderburgh County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. McCutchanville was established in 1845 and is named for Samuel McCutchan, a Scottish/Irish immigrant who was the first postmaster for the area. Geography McCutchanville is located at . History McCutchanville was first settled by Scottish and Irish immigrants in the early 19th century. In 1845, Samuel McCutchan became the Post Master of the community's first post office. This led to the community being called McCutchanville. The post office operated from 1850 to 1906. McCutchanville was also the childhood home to Annie Fellows Johnston, American author of ''The Little Colonel'' series. South Gibson School Corporation
The South Gibson School Corporation is the largest of the three public school governing institutions in both enrollment and territory covered in Gibson County, Indiana as well as one of the ten largest in enrollment in Southwestern Indiana. The SGSC is responsible for a district including four townships of southern and southwestern Gibson County; Johnson, Montgomery, Union, Wabash, and parts of Barton, Center and Patoka Townships within Gibson County as well as drawing in students from Northern Vanderburgh and Posey Counties. Warrick County is a county located in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of 2020, the population was 63,898. The county seat is Boonville. Gibson County is a county in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Indiana. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 33,503. The county seat is Princeton. History In 1787, the fledgling United States defined the Northwest Territory, which included the area of present-day Indiana.
