Scott Stewart (politician)
Scott James Stewart is an Australian politician. He has been the Labor member for Townsville in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since February 2015. Stewart was a high school principal and educator in the Townsville region. He was the principal of Pimlico State High School when he contested the seat of Townsville. During his time in education Scott established a boxing program, aimed at helping under-achieving indigenous students re-engage with schooling through sport. Scott and his wife Jackie moved to Townsville in 1999 to raise their three children. He is a volunteer with Townsville Rotary and sits on several committees including the North Queensland Stadium Activation Group, Community Aviation Consultation Group, CBD Taskforce, Regional Economic Development Sub-Committee, Palm Island Economic Development and Palm Island Liveability Project. Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is a public research university located in the urban coastal city of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. QUT is located on two campuses in the Brisbane area viz. Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove. Pimlico State High School
Pimlico State High School is an independent public high school in Townsville, Australia. Basic information Established in 1959, Pimlico State High School is now one of the largest public high schools in North Queensland. Following the transition of Year 7 from primary schools to high schools across Queensland in 2015, the total enrolments of Pimlico have grown to approximately 1700. While operated as part of the Queensland Department of Education, Pimlico was awarded Independent Public School (IPS) status in 2013. Under the IPS program, Pimlico operates semi-autonomously with oversight provided by a School Council. The school draws approximately half of its enrolments from outside its designated catchment area. The Parliament of Queensland is the legislature of Queensland, Australia. Home Hill is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Burdekin, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Home Hill had a population of 2,954 people. At the delta of the Burdekin River, it is a sugarcane growing area with underground water supplies to irrigate crops. Badilla is a neighbourhood in the south of the locality (). Geography Home Hill lies approximately south of Townsville and north of the state capital Brisbane on the Bruce Highway.
