Scott Shleifer
Scott Louis Shleifer (born 1977) is an American billionaire hedge fund manager, and the co-founder of Tiger Global Management's private equity investing business. As of September 2022, his net worth was estimated at US$3.5 billion. Early life Shleifer was born and raised in suburban Portland, Oregon. His father, Stuart Shleifer, ran Shleifer Furniture, the family business, until it closed. The company was founded in 1936 by Stuart Shleifer's father and grandfather, and the Shleifer Furniture building was originally the Chamberlin Hotel. The store closed in 2015, and was sold (along with a 15,000-square-foot warehouse) to Brad Malsin, head of Beam Development who plans to turn the 45,000-square-foot building back into a hotel. The Chamberlin is a retirement community in Hampton, Virginia, overlooking Hampton Roads at Old Point Comfort. It was formerly known as the Chamberlin Hotel, named for the famed restaurateur and original owner John Chamberlin. The nine-story building sits on historic Fort Monroe and overlooks Fort Wool. Beaverton High School (often referred to as The Beaverton High School) is a public high school located in Beaverton, Oregon, United States. The original schoolhouse, called Beaverton Public School, opened in 1875 on land between Canyon Road and Broadway Street. Julian Hart Robertson Jr. (June 25, 1932 – August 23, 2022) was an American billionaire hedge fund manager, and philanthropist. Robertson founded Tiger Management, one of the first hedge funds, in 1980. From its inception in 1980 to its 1998 asset peak, his fund returned 31.7% per year after fees, compared to a 12.7% annual return from the S&P 500 over the same period.
