Scott Riddell
Scott Riddell (born 5 October 1985) is the former captain of the Scotland national sevens team and competed in three Commonwealth Games and 74 competitions in the HSBC World Sevens Series as well as play in the 2009, 2013 and 2018 Sevens World Cup since making his Scotland debut in the 2009 Wellington competition. He has also represented Great Britain in the Rugby Europe Sevens Circuit. In 2014/15 season he was named in the London 7s dream team due to his world class performances. In the 2016 London Sevens, Riddell played an important part in winning Scotland’s first ever series cup as well as making getting his 50th cap for the sevens team. Stewart's Melville FP
Stewart's Melville RFC is a rugby union club based in Edinburgh, Scotland. They team competes in Scottish National League Division One, the second tier of Scottish club rugby. Home matches are played at Inverleith; this was the venue for Scotland's home games between 1899 and 1925, during which time the first matches against France and New Zealand were played. History The club took on its present form following the merger of Stewart's College FP and Melville College FP in 1973 when the club became known as Stewart's Melville FP RFC. As the name suggests, many of the players in the club's history were former pupils of the Stewart's Melville College (formed in a merger of Daniel Stewart's College and Melville College) in Edinburgh. Blaydon
Blaydon is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England, and historically in County Durham. Heriot's Rugby Club, also known as Heriot's FP, is one of Scotland's senior rugby football clubs in the Scottish Rugby Union, whose Men's 1st XV play in the FOSROC . Scotland Sevens
The Scotland Sevens was a rugby sevens tournament that was part of the Sevens World Series. In the 2014-15 season it was the penultimate event of the Sevens World Series circuit. It was first held in 2007 but has been removed from the series from the 2015-16 season. Between 2007 and 2011 the tournament was held at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, then moving to Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow from 2012. The agreement to host the tournament in Glasgow between the World Rugby, which operates the Sevens World Series, and the Scottish Rugby Union ran from 2012 for at least 3 years. The event was replaced in the World Sevens series by the France Sevens event from 2015–16 and will not return to the series until 2019 at the earliest. Commonwealth Games

World Rugby Sevens Series
The World Rugby Men's Sevens Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments run by World Rugby featuring national sevens teams. Organised for the first time in the 1999–2000 season as the IRB World Sevens Series, the competition was formed to promote an elite-level of international rugby sevens and develop the game into a viable commercial product. The competition has been sponsored by banking group HSBC since 2014. The season's circuit consists of 10 tournaments that generally begin in November or December and last until May. The venues are held across 10 countries, and visits five of the six populated continents. Rugby World Cup Sevens (RWCS) is the quadrennial world championship of rugby sevens, a variant of rugby union. Organised by World Rugby, it currently consists of men's and women's tournaments, and is the highest level of competition in the sport outside of the Summer Olympics. The first tournament was held in 1993 in Scotland, and was won by England. The winners of the men's tournament are awarded the Melrose Cup, named after the Scottish town of Melrose where the first rugby sevens game was played. A women's tournament was introduced at the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai, and was first won by Australia. The 2016 London Sevens was the tenth and final tournament within the 2015–16 World Rugby Sevens Series. 2017 London Sevens
The 2017 London Sevens was the tenth and final event of the 2016–17 World Rugby Sevens Series and the seventeenth edition of the London Sevens. The tournament was held over the weekend of 20–21 May 2017 at Twickenham in London. This was the first tournament in the history of the series with all semifinalists from the Northern Hemisphere, as Scotland, England, Canada, and the United States took out the top four placings. Scotland won the tournament, beating England 12–7 in the final. The USA's Perry Baker was the leading try scorer, notching eight tries over the weekend.
