Scott Murray (rugby Union)
Scott Murray (born 15 January 1976) is a former rugby union player who played lock for Scotland. He was at one time the record caps holder for Scotland having represented them on 87 occasions, five of which as captain and playing at three World Cups. He also toured with the British & Irish Lions and won Scotland player of the season three times. He is currently the head coach for the San Diego Legion of Major League Rugby (MLR). Club career Murray is a former Scottish school basketball international who attended Morgan Academy and Preston Lodge High School. He represented Scotland at every youth level and has played for Preston Lodge RFC and Edinburgh Academicals before moving to England to help Bedford win the Allied Dunbar Premiership Division Two (now the RFU Championship) in 1998 and gain entrance to the English Premiership. Scott George Murray (born 26 May 1974) is a Scottish former professional footballer who is now employed as the kitman at Bristol City. Club career Born in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, and a product of the Scottish Highland Football League, Murray made his debut at his local Highland League club Fraserburgh aged just 16, where he played for the first-team for four years while working full-time in a local fish processing factory. Impressive on-field performances lead to interest from Aberdeen, Rangers and Liverpool. After scoring in a trial game for Liverpool's reserves, Graeme Souness was shortly sacked as first-team manager and therefore any chance of signing a deal faded. Scott Murray (born 3 March 1988 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former footballer. Murray won the Scottish Youth Cup with Kilmarnock in 2004 before being released shortly after. Dundee manager Jim Duffy then signed Murray on a 2-year contract. He made his first team debut against Airdrie in the Scottish Challenge Cup saving two penalties in the penalty shoot-out at the end of the game to send Dundee through to the next round. He went on to make 25 league and cup appearances for the Dens Park side in the 2005–06 season, winning Young Player of the Month for January 2006. He signed a new 2-year contract in February 2006, while keeping five clean sheets in a row. Scott also represented Scotland at U16, U17 and U19 level.
