Scott Mitchinson
Scott Michael Mitchinson (born 28 December 1984 in Perth, Western Australia) is an Australian professional baseball player for the Perth Heat of the Australian Baseball League. Professional career Mitchinson debuted for the Western Australia Heelers in the 2002 Claxton Shield as a 17-year-old and went on to play in the 2003 Claxton Shield. The Philadelphia Phillies signed him that year. After playing in the 2004 Claxton Shield he made his professional debut in the US minor leagues, with the GCL Phillies. He went an incredible 7–0 with a 1.75 ERA, walking a single batter in 612/3 IP while striking out 60. He led the Gulf Coast League in innings, tied Luis Valdez for the win lead, was three strikeouts behind leader Gabriel Sosa and was second to Gaby Hernandez in ERA. The Kane County Cougars are an independent professional baseball team located in Geneva, Illinois and are members of the American Association of Professional Baseball, an official Partner League of Major League Baseball (MLB). Gulf Coast League
The Florida Complex League (FCL) is a rookie-level Minor League Baseball league that operates in Florida, United States. Before 2021, it was known as the Gulf Coast League (GCL). Together with the Arizona Complex League (ACL), it forms the lowest rung on the North American minor-league ladder. FCL teams play at the minor league spring training complexes of their parent Major League Baseball (MLB) clubs and are owned by those parent clubs. Admission is not charged, and no concessions are operated at the teams' games. Every Grapefruit League team fields at least one team in the league. The 74th Claxton Shield was held from 28 December 2007 to 10 February 2008. The 2008 Shield was conducted on a Home and Away series made up of 2 Divisions; Eastern Division: Australian Provincial, New South Wales Patriots and the Queensland Rams, Southern Division: Perth Heat, Victoria Aces and South Australia. Carlos Luis Carrasco (born March 21, 1987), nicknamed "Cookie", is a Venezuelan-born American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB).
