Scott McIvor
Scott McIvor (born 9 August 1966) is a former Australian rules footballer. He made his V/AFL debut with Fitzroy in 1985 but played the majority of his career in his home state of Queensland with the Brisbane Bears/Lions. Born in Brisbane, Queensland, McIvor played his junior football for Wilston Grange. Prior to starting his VFL career, McIvor captained his home state Queensland in the Teal Cup. At the age of 17, he was recruited by Fitzroy and finished second in their 1986 best and fairest before winning it in 1987. The following season, he returned home to Queensland and joined the Brisbane Bears who were playing just their second season in the AFL. McIvor remained with the club for ten seasons until they merged with Fitzroy for the 1997 season. He finished with 138 games for the Bears; only Roger Merrett and Marcus Ashcroft managed more. Marcus Ashcroft
Marcus Ashcroft (born 25 September 1971) is a former professional Australian rules footballer. He played 318 games for the Brisbane Bears/Lions and is currently on the coaching panel of the Gold Coast Football Club. The Marcus Ashcroft Medal, awarded to the player judged best on ground in the QClash football match played between the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Football Club, is named after him. Early life Ashcroft was born in Melbourne and raised on the Gold Coast. As a child he lived in Victoria until the age of 3 when he moved to the Gold Coast with his family. He attended Merrimac State High School throughout his teenage years. Ashcroft began playing junior football on the Gold Coast for the Surfers Paradise Demons and later moved to the Southport Sharks to complete his junior football. Frank Curcio
Francis Eduardo Curcio (25 November 1912 – 11 November 1988) was an Australian rules footballer who played his entire 249 game career for the Fitzroy Lions in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He captained the club for four seasons, from 1938 until 1941. Playing career Recruited from the Christian Young Men's Society in 1931, Curcio was a tough, hard ruckman, who also played well in the back line. He was renowned for protecting his smaller teammates. A bass violinist, Curcio combined his musical talents with his football prowess, but stood out of the game in 1937 to concentrate on his music.
