Scott L. Wyatt
Scott L. Wyatt is an American attorney, politician, and academic administrator serving as the 16th president of Southern Utah University. He previously served as the 15th president of Snow College and as a member of the Utah State Legislature. Education Wyatt has a Bachelor of Science degree in philosophy and economics from Utah State University and a Juris Doctor from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. Wyatt was admitted to the Utah bar 2 October 1990. Career During his law career, Wyatt served as a prosecutor for Cache County, Utah. From 2005 to 2007, Wyatt was a member of the Utah House of Representatives from 2005 to 2007, representing the 5th district. During his tenure in the House, Wyatt was a member of the House Political Subdivisions Committee, Judiciary Committee, House Business and Labor Committee, and Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee. Southern Utah University
Southern Utah University (SUU) is a public university in Cedar City, Utah. Founded in 1897 as a normal school, Southern Utah University now graduates over 1,800 students each year with baccalaureate and graduate degrees from its six colleges. Snow College
Snow College is a public community college in Ephraim, Utah. It offers certificates and associate degrees in a number of areas, along with bachelor's degrees in music and software engineering and a four-year nursing program. Snow College is part of the Utah System of Higher Education. History Founded in 1888 by local citizens as Sanpete Stake Academy, the school was later renamed Snow Academy to honor Lorenzo Snow and Erastus Snow, distant cousins who were leaders in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The initial school was built entirely with local donations, including “Sunday Eggs” (the proceeds from the sales of all eggs laid on Sunday). Cache County ( ) is a county located in the Wasatch Front region of Utah. As of the 2020 United States Census the population was 133,154. Its county seat and largest city is Logan. Cache County is included in Logan metropolitan area. History Indigenous peoples occupied the valleys of present Cache County as much as 10,000 BCE. Near the present epoch, the valley served the Plains Indians and the Shoshone. Trappers and explorers visited the area in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
