Scott Jones (athlete)
Scott Jones (born 4 February 1998) is a parasport athlete from England. Formerly competing mainly in F34 throwing events, Jones won gold and a new world record in the F34 shot put at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships. After an injury Jones took on rowing, continuing his aim towards participating in 2020 Summer Paralympics. Jones appeared in the DIY SOS: The Big Build reality show on TV, recorded in 2015. Career history Jones was a keen sports enthusiast as a youngster and enjoyed both athletics and rugby union before three stroke like symptoms left him without use of the right side of his body. On recovery he returned to athletics and, despite a further stroke which left him in a wheelchair, he found an aptitude for the shot put. Jones was not selected for the Great Britain team at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London as it was believed the pressure on a then 14-year-old, would have been too great. Scott Jones (born November 4, 1971) is a Canadian curler from Moncton, New Brunswick. He currently skips his own team. Career Juniors Jones won the 1990 New Brunswick junior men's title, skipping a rink of Darrell Rice, Sean Hughson and Shane Longley. The team represented New Brunswick at the 1990 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, with Jones playing second on the team. There, the rink would finish with a 3–8 record, in 11th place. Men's Jones won his first provincial men's title in 2007, throwing third rocks for the Paul Dobson rink. At the 2007 Tim Hortons Brier, the rink would finish last, with a 1–10 record. In 2008, Jones won the New Brunswick mixed title as a skip with teammates Sandy Comeau, Pierre Fraser and Stephanie Taylor. They would represent New Brunswick at the 2009 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. There, he led the province to a 5–6 record. Scott Jones (born March 20, 1966) is a former offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). Biography Jones was born Robert Scott Jones on March 20, 1966, in Portland, Oregon. He went to Port Angeles High School and played football there in 1984. He played for UW in 1989. He played NFL football in 1990. Career Jones was selected in the twelfth round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals and played that season with the team. He played the following season with the New York Jets before splitting the 1991 NFL season between the Green Bay Packers and the Bengals. Scott Jones (born 20 May 1995) is an Australian rules football player who played for Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He grew up in Busselton before moving to Perth and playing for East Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). A number of injuries, including a broken leg, broken foot and a dislocated AC joint, affected his junior and early senior career. He was selected by Fremantle with their eighth and last selection, the 75th overall, in the 2017 AFL national draft. Scott Lyman Jones (born September 22, 1983) is a Puerto Rican international footballer. Career College and amateur Jones grew up in Dallas, Texas, where he attended Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas. He then attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, playing on the men's college soccer team from 2003 to 2006. He was a 2004 second team All American and a 2005 first team All American. In 2004, he began playing for the Carolina Dynamo of the USL Premier Development League during the collegiate off season. Professional On January 12, 2007, FC Dallas selected Jones in the third round (28th overall) in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft. Dallas announced they had signed Jones on March 28, 2007. Scott Robert Jones (born August 10, 1967) is an American attorney, politician, and former law enforcement officer who served as the sheriff of Sacramento County, California from 2010-2022. Jones was first elected in 2010, winning re-election to his post in 2014 and again in 2018. Early life and education Jones was raised in Southern California and moved to Sacramento with his family as a child. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from the California State University, Sacramento and a Juris Doctor from the Lincoln Law School of Sacramento in 1998.
