Scott Gregory (rugby Union)
Scott Gregory (born 7 January 1999) is a New Zealand rugby union player who plays for in the United Rugby Championship. Early career Gregory was sighted at an early age, securing a three year deal with Northland for the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup at the age of 18. Gregory had a breakthrough year in 2018 which started with the Whangārei teen being selected and playing in all five of the New Zealand national under-20 rugby union team’s matches at the World Rugby Under 20 Championship. Gregory then returned to New Zealand and played a starring role in the campaign, debuting off the bench in the first round and going on to play 10 matches. The young star was later selected as a member of the New Zealand national rugby sevens team in the 2019 season, playing in several tournaments throughout the year and even debuting on the World Rugby Sevens Series in a championship win in Dubai. Whangārei
Whangārei () is the northernmost city in New Zealand and the regional capital of Northland Region. It is part of the Whangarei District, Whangārei District, a local body created in 1989 from the former Whangārei City, Whangārei County and Hikurangi Town councils, to administer both the city proper and its hinterland. World Rugby Under 20 Championship
The World Rugby Under 20 Championship (known as the IRB Junior World Championship until 2014) is an international rugby union competition. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, World Rugby, and is contested by 12 men's junior national teams with an under-20 age requirement. This event replaced the IRB's former age-grade world championships, the Under 19 and Under 21 World Championships. The inaugural tournament was held in June 2008, hosted by Wales and with 16 teams participating. Wales was announced as host for the inaugural tournament in November 2007. The number of participating nations was reduced to 12 before the 2010 tournament due to financial reasons. The 2023–24 United Rugby Championship is the 23rd season of the professional rugby union competition known as the United Rugby Championship, and the third season under that name. It began on 21 October 2023 and will end on 22 June 2024. The reigning and defending champions are Munster Rugby who defeated Stormers in the 2023 final. Format The season consists of 21 rounds: 18 rounds of regular season play, followed by three rounds of play-offs.
