Scotland (, ) is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. Covering the northern third of the island of Great Britain, mainland Scotland has a border with England to the southeast and is otherwise surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, the North Sea to the northeast and east, and the Irish Sea to the south. Scotland is a city in Archer County in the U.S. state of Texas. It is part of the Wichita Falls, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 501 at the 2010 census. The town is named for its founder, Henry J. Scott. Geography Scotland is located in eastern Archer County at (33.642195, –98.448340), south of the Little Wichita River. The city limits extend east as far as Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir on the Little Wichita. U.S. Route 281 passes through the city, leading north to Wichita Falls and south to Jacksboro. ''Scotland, PA'' is a 2001 film directed and written by Billy Morrissette. It is a modernized version of William Shakespeare's ''Macbeth''. The film stars James LeGros, Maura Tierney, and Christopher Walken. Shakespeare's tragedy, originally set in Dunsinane Castle in 11th century Scotland, is reworked into a dark comedy set in 1975, centered on "Duncan's Cafe", a fast-food restaurant in the small town of Scotland, Pennsylvania. Patricia Janet Scotland, Baroness Scotland of Asthal, (born 19 August 1955), is a British diplomat, barrister and politician, serving as the sixth secretary-general of the Commonwealth of Nations. She was elected at the 2015 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and took office on 1 April 2016. She is the first woman to hold the post. Jason Kelvin Scotland CM (born 18 February 1979) is a Trinidadian former professional footballer and current coach of Larkhall Thistle who last played for Scottish team Hamilton Academical. Scotland started his footballing career in his native Trinidad and Tobago before moving to play professionally for Scottish club Dundee United. Egon Scotland
Egon Scotland (7 October 1948 – 26 July 1991) was a German journalist, who was killed while covering the Yugoslav Wars. Biography Scotland was a reporter for the '' Sueddeutsche Zeitung''. In 1991 he travelled to the breaking Yugoslavia to cover the Croatian War of Independence. On 26 July 1991 he drove to Glina with RSH reporter because they heard that some journalist had gone missing. In Glina their car, clearly labelled "press", was targeted by the troops led by Serb paramilitary commander Dragan Vasiljković (nicknamed Captain Dragan). Scotland was shot in the abdomen and died in a hospital in Sisak. Other civilians were murdered in the same ambush. Scotland was married to , also a journalist. Alexander Paterson Scotland OBE (1882–1965) was a British Army officer and intelligence officer. Scotland was noted for his work during and after World War II as commandant of the "London Cage", an MI19 prisoner of war facility that was subject to frequent allegations of torture.
