Scorpion Prison
The Al-Aqrab Prison ( ar, سجن العقرب, lit=The Scorpion Prison; official name Tora Prison 992 Maximum-Security) is a supermax prison in Helwan, Egypt, south of Cairo. It is used for political prisoners and opponents of the Egyptian government, who include Muslim Brotherhood and April 6 Youth Movement leaders, as well as political activists. Inmates allegedly suffer from ill-treatment and shortages of food. The prison became known during the rule of Hosni Mubarak. Prison site Scorpion Prison is located two kilometers from the gate of the official Tora Prison area, but its position as a high security prison, and like the last of the cluster in the famous Tora chain, made its location, even though it is at the back of the prisons, distinctive as it is surrounded by a wall of seven meters high. Vitamin D
Vitamin D is a group of fat-soluble secosteroids responsible for increasing intestinal absorption of calcium, magnesium, and phosphate, and many other biological effects. In humans, the most important compounds in this group are vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol). The major natural source of the vitamin is synthesis of cholecalciferol in the lower layers of epidermis of the skin through a chemical reaction that is dependent on sun exposure (specifically UVB radiation). Helwan Governorate
Helwan Governorate was one of the governorates of Egypt. It was located in Lower Egypt. History The Helwan Governorate was split from the Cairo Governorate in April 2008. It was created through a presidential decree in order to ease the burden placed on Cairo, one of Egypt's most densely populated governorates. The city of Helwan became the capital of the Helwan Governorate, which encompassed most of the eastern suburbs of Cairo, notably the affluent neighbourhood of Maadi. Khaled Al-Qazzaz
Khaled Al-Qazzaz (born July 3, 1979) is an educator, philanthropist, and human rights activist based in Egypt and Canada. Al-Qazzaz graduated from the University of Toronto with a master's degree in mechanical engineering in 2003. Al-Qazzaz was an aide to Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi. He was forcibly detained by the Egyptian military on July 3, 2013, along with the president and eight other government aides during the Egyptian coup d'etat . Al-Qazzaz remained in an unknown military location for five and a half months. During this time, the Egyptian regime refused to acknowledge that it was holding Al-Qazzaz or to confirm his whereabouts, putting him outside the protection of the law.
