History The club was a founding member of the Scoresby District Football Association in 1925 and went into recess when the competition ended in 1930. They reformed after World War II and won the 1947 Dandenong District Football Association B Grade premiership at their first attempt. They left the competition after the 1951 season. In 1952 the club renamed itself Wantirna and moved to the Croydon-Ferntree Gully Football League which was the forerunner of the Eastern Football League. It reverted its name back to Scoresby in 1954 and has remained in the competition to this day. ...

The Eastern Football Netball League (known previously as the Eastern Districts Football League and later the Eastern Football League) is an Australian rules football league, based in the eastern suburbs of metropolitan Melbourne. History The Eastern Districts Football League was established on 15 February 1962, but its origins can be traced back to the Reporter District Football League established in 1903. From 1927 until World War 2, the league was known as the Ringwood District Football League. It was known as the Croydon District Football League and the Croydon Mail Football League between World War 2 and 1949. In 1950 the league became known as the Croydon-Ferntree Gully League. In 1997, the Eastern District Football League and the Knox Junior Football Association united to create the Eastern Football League. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. Scoresby, Victoria
Scoresby is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 29 km east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Knox local government area. Scoresby recorded a population of 6,066 at the 2021 census. In the Parish system of Victoria (mainly used with land-ownership documents) the local parish is called Scoresby, a part of the County of Mornington. History The area of Scoresby was surveyed in 1857, and named after the Arctic explorer William Scoresby. Scoresby had died the previous year, shortly after his visit to the colony to experiment with terrestrial magnetism near the area which now carries his name. A township developed in the 1870s around the intersection of Stud Road and Ferntree Gully Road. A school was established in 1872, followed by a Methodist church.
