Science Park Station (MTR)
Science Park () or Pak Shek Kok () is a proposed MTR station which may be built in Pak Shek Kok, New Territories, Hong Kong. The station would be on the East Rail line between University and Tai Po Market stations, serving the Hong Kong Science Park. In 2021, Chief Executive Carrie Lam invited the MTR Corporation for the construction of a station at the site of the Hong Kong Education University's sports centre. In the Chief Executive's 2022 policy address, it was stated that the station would be commissioned by 2033. Tai Po Market Station
Tai Po Market (; : ) is an MTR station on the in the New Territories, Hong Kong. Located between Flagstaff Hill and Wan Tau Tong Estate in Tai Po, and adjacent to the eponymous market town, the station has three tracks and four platforms. Platform 1 is for northbound trains to border crossing stations at Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau and platform 4 is for southbound trains to Hung Hom, Kowloon while platforms 2 and 3 use the same track and is reserved for peak hour traffic. The Hong Kong Science Park (HKSTP; ) is a science park in Pak Shek Kok, New Territories, Hong Kong. It sits on the Tolo Harbour waterfront, near the Chinese University of Hong Kong. University station is an MTR station located near the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Ma Liu Shui. It is between and / stations on the . This station was the first post-war station to open on the line, and has the most curved track of any MTR station. History Early history Construction of the station, initially named Ma Liu Shui after the locality in which it is situated, began in January 1955. It was completed in August 1955. Pak Shek Kok
Pak Shek Kok () is a place in Tai Po District in Hong Kong, located between Ma Liu Shui and Tai Po Kau, close to Cheung Shue Tan () and facing Tolo Harbour ( Tai Po Hoi). The Kowloon–Canton Railway, Tolo Highway, Hong Kong Science Park are all situated on the reclamation outside Pak Shek Kok. Geography Pak Shek Kok was the estuary of two creeks from nearby valleys of Cheung Shue Tau. Kok () in Cantonese means convex land on the shore and thus was used to describe the land formed by two creeks running into Tai Po Hoi. Pak Shek () means white rock. It is probably the feature of land but without well documentary. The estuary was completely covered by reclamation and the mouth of creeks was redirect to a drainage. East Rail Line
The East Rail line () is one of ten lines of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. It used to be one of the three lines of the Kowloon–Canton Railway (KCR) network. It was known as the KCR British Section () from 1910 to 1996, and the KCR East Rail () from 1996 to 2007. East Rail was the only railway line of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) following the closure of the Sha Tau Kok Railway and before the construction of ''KCR West Rail'' (later renamed West Rail line, now part of the Tuen Ma line).
