Schwerte
Schwerte ( Westphalian: ''Schweierte'') is a town in the district of Unna, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Geography Schwerte is situated in the Ruhr valley, at the south-east border of the Ruhr Area. South of Schwerte begins the mountainous Sauerland region. Division of the town After the local government reforms of 1975 Schwerte consists of the following districts: * Schwerte * Holzen * Westhofen * Ergste * Geisecke * Villigst * Wandhofen History Schwerte received civic rights in the 12th century. The railway facility in the eastern district of Schwerte became a branch of the Buchenwald concentration camp in April 1944. The camp had 445 prisoners in August and 670 in November 1944. The number of escapees was comparatively high; in November 1944 48 prisoners escaped. The camp in Schwerte was disbanded in December 1944 and the remaining prisoners were brought back to Buchenwald. Johannes Goddaeus
Johann Gödde, latinized as Johannes Goddaeus (7 December 1555 – 5 January 1632), was a German jurist. Life Youth Gödde was born in Schwerte, North Rhine-Westphalia, into a wealthy merchant's family. His father Heinrich Gödde was several times mayor of Schwerte, and his mother Elisabeth née Becker was the daughter of a town councillor of Schwerte. He was the fifth of the couple's six children, but the first to survive childhood. He was originally intended to take over his father's business, but showed his scholarly ability very early, and his parents allowed him to attend school from 1568 at Dortmund, where he learned Latin, Greek and especially Hebrew. In 1570 he moved to study at Deventer, which however he had to leave after only a year because of war. After a short stay in Schwerte he resumed his studies in Dortmund. Villigst is a Stadtteil (district) of the city Schwerte in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. On 31 December 2012, Villigst had a population of 3.309 inhabitants. Ergste is a stadtbezirk (a district) of the town of Schwerte in Germany. As of 31 December 2012, Ergste had a population of 7025 inhabitants. It lies south of the river Ruhr near Sauerland. The Unna () district is a Kreis (district) in central North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Neighboring authorities are the district of Coesfeld, the city of Hamm, the districts of Soest and Märkischer Kreis, the cities of Hagen and Dortmund, and the district of Recklinghausen. Hastings
Hastings () is a large seaside town and borough in East Sussex on the south coast of England, east to the county town of Lewes and south east of London. Heinrich Rehkemper
Heinrich Rehkemper (born 1894, died 1949) was a German baritone singer whose repertoire was in opera and Lieder, and whose career was principally in Germany between the First and Second World War. The greater part of his career was spent as leading baritone at the Munich opera house. Rehkemper studied at Düsseldorf, and made his debut in opera in '' Die Faschingsfee'' by Emmerich Kálmán in 1919, at Coburg. Over the next two years he also sang there in Nicolai's ''Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor'', in ''Lohengrin'', ''Carmen'' and ''Cavalleria rusticana''. From 1921 to 1924 he was engaged at the Stuttgart opera, and during the first three years of this time he sang over forty different lead roles. An Ausbesserungswerk (abbreviation AW or Aw) is a railway facility in German-speaking countries, the primary function of which is the repair (and formerly also the construction) of railway vehicles or their components.
