The Schrottenturn Manor ( sl, Šrotenturn, ) is a manor in Stražišče, a neighborhood of the town of Kranj Kranj (, german: Krainburg) is the third-largest city in Slovenia, with a population of 37,941 (2020). It is located approximately northwest of Ljubljana. The centre of the City Municipality of Kranj and of the traditional region of Upper Carniol ... in northwestern Slovenia. It was built or owned in the 16th century by the Schrott family. In 1902, it was bought by the politician Oto von Detela and became known as the Detela Manor ( sl, Detelova graščina). Kranj
Kranj (, german: Krainburg) is the third-largest city in Slovenia, with a population of 37,941 (2020). It is located approximately northwest of Ljubljana. The centre of the City Municipality of Kranj and of the traditional region of Upper Carniola (northwestern Slovenia) is a mainly industrial city with significant electronics and rubber industries. Geography The nucleus of the city is a well-preserved medieval old town, built at the confluence of the Kokra and Sava rivers. Manorialism
Manorialism, also known as the manor system or manorial system, was the method of land ownership (or "tenure") in parts of Europe, notably France and later England, during the Middle Ages. Stražišče, Kranj
Stražišče (; german: Straschische''Leksikon občin kraljestev in dežel zastopanih v državnem zboru,'' vol. 6: ''Kranjsko''. 1906. Vienna: C. Kr. Dvorna in Državna Tiskarna, pp. 56–57.) is a former settlement in the Municipality of Kranj in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It is now part of the city of Kranj. It includes the hamlet of Gaštej (german: Gehesteig). Geography Tular Cave lies west of the settlement. The cave was described in 1689 by Johann Weikhard von Valvasor and has natural populations of the amphipod crustacean '' Niphargus ilidzensis slovenicus'' and the ground beetle '' Anophthalmus micklitzi ''. During the Second World War, a large part of the cave was converted into an air raid shelter for a nearby factory.
