Alexander Von Schrenk
Alexander Gustav von Schrenk (4 February 1816 – 25 June 1876) was a Russian naturalist born near Tula in what was then the Russian Empire. He was a brother to zoologist Leopold von Schrenck (1826–1894). From 1834 to 1837, he studied sciences at the University of Dorpat (Tartu), later spending several years as an assistant at the botanical garden in St. Petersburg. He was habilitated for mineralogy at Dorpat, where from 1849 he served as a lecturer. Alois Josef, Freiherr von Schrenk und Nötzig ( cs, Aloys Josef svobodný pán Schrenk z Notzing) (24 March 1802 – 5 March 1849) was the Roman Catholic archbishop of Prague from 1838 to 1849. Biography Schrenk was born in Zbenice in 1802 with the hereditary title of ''Freiherr von Schrenk und Nötzig''. He was ordained a priest in 1825. On 12 February 1838, he was appointed auxiliary bishop of Olomouc in the Czech Republic, as well as titular bishop of Ptolemais in Phoenicia. On 20 June 1838, Schrenk was appointed archbishop of Prague (called '' Prince Archbishop''), was confirmed on 17 September 1838, and subsequently installed on 4 November 1838. Schrenk invited the French congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Borromeo to Prague. They established a hospital and nursing school on Petřín Hill below the Strahov Garden. The Prague community was confirmed as a separate congregation in 1841 and soon became one of the most numerous and most significant orders in Bohemia. ... Steven Wayne Schrenk (born November 20, 1968) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played two seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies. Career He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 4th round of the 1987 amateur draft. Schrenk played his first professional season with their Rookie league Gulf Coast League White Sox in 1987, and his last with their Triple-A Charlotte Knights in . He is currently the pitching coach for the Syracuse Mets. Schrenk won three games in the major leagues, all with the Phillies. On August 4, 1999, he picked up his only major league save during a 4-1 Phillies victory over the Marlins. Albert Freiherr von Schrenck-Notzing (18 May 1862 – 12 February 1929) was a German physician, psychiatrist and notable psychical researcher, who devoted his time to the study of paranormal events connected with mediumship, hypnotism and telepathy. He investigated Spiritualist mediums such as Willi Schneider, Rudi Schneider, and Valentine Dencausse. He is credited as the first forensic psychologist by Guinness World Records. Mediumship Eva C Schrenck-Notzing investigated the medium Eva Carrière and believed the ectoplasm she produced was genuine.
