Emanuel Schreiber (December 13, 1852, Lipník nad Bečvou, Moravia – March 1932, Chicago) was an American rabbi. Life Schreiber received his education at the Talmudical college of his native town, the rabbinical seminary at Eisenstadt, Hungary, and the Hochschule in Berlin (Ph.D., Heidelberg, 1873). In 1874 he was appointed teacher at the Samson School at Wolfenbüttel, and subsequently became rabbi of Elbing (1875) and Bonn on the Rhine (1878). Later, Schreiber came to the United States, having in 1881 accepted a call to the rabbinate of Mobile, Ala., where he remained until 1883, when he was elected rabbi of Denver, Colorado. He then held successively the rabbinates of Los Angeles, California (1885–89); Little Rock, Arkansas (1889–91); Spokane, Washington (1891–92); Toledo, Ohio (1892–97); and Youngstown, Ohio (1897–1899). Elaine Annette Schreiber (4 June 1939 – 11 June 2017) was an Australian Paralympic table tennis player and field games athlete. She contracted Poliomyelitis as a child. Schreiber, who lived most of her life in Armadale Victoria, was a typist / telephonist employed by the St Kilda City Council, St Kilda Victoria. She worked in the Town Clerk's department for 17 years prior to the 1964 Summer Paralympics. Edwin Frederick Schreiber (31 May 1936 – 7 October 2010) was a South African cricketer who played first-class cricket for Border from 1954 to 1967. Doug Schreiber (born August 25, 1963) is an American baseball coach and former second baseman. He is the current head baseball coach of the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons. Schreiber played college baseball at Purdue University. He was the head baseball coach at Purdue University from 1999 to 2016, where he posted a 485–489 record. From 2004 to 2006, Purdue qualified for three consecutive Big Ten baseball tournaments. His 2006 team went 31–27, and defeated #2 North Carolina.
