David Schramm (actor)
David Michael Schramm (August 14, 1946 – March 28, 2020) was an American actor. He was best known for playing the role of Roy Biggins, the curmudgeonly rival airline owner in the TV series ''Wings''. Early life and education Schramm was born on August 14, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky. His father was a bookie. Schramm revealed in a 2008 interview that at the age of 17, "(my parents) always came to see me in school, where I won trophies for speaking, and then in those big outdoor dramas we have in Kentucky, and then as an apprentice actor at the playhouse that eventually became the Actors Theater of Louisville." Schramm also earned $25 a week for cleaning toilets and for being in a play. "I had been acting non-stop since I was a teenager," Schramm said in a 2012 interview. Bill Schramm
Frederick William Schramm (28 March 1886 – 28 October 1962) was a New Zealand politician of the Labour Party. He was the eleventh Speaker of the House of Representatives, from 1944 to 1946. Biography Early life Schramm was born in Hokitika in 1886. His Danish parents had arrived in New Zealand in the 1860s. He received his education at Hokitika High School and at Canterbury College. He was a prominent sports person in his younger years in athletics, cricket, and hockey, and represented Canterbury College in the New Zealand University championships for two years. He married Alice Amelia Peard in 1918; they had two daughters. Schramm started his professional career as a clerk with the Justice Department and held positions in Wanganui and Te Kuiti before World War I, and Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland after the war. Wilbur Lang Schramm (August 5, 1907 – December 27, 1987) was a scholar and "authority on mass communications". He founded the Iowa Writers' Workshop in 1935 and served as its first director until 1941. Schramm was hugely influential in establishing communications as a field of study in the United States, and the establishing of departments of communication studies across U.S. universities. Wilbur Schramm is considered the founder of the field of Communication Studies. He was the first individual to identify himself as a communication scholar; he created the first academic degree-granting programs with communication in their name; and he trained the first generation of communication scholars. Percy Ernst Schramm (14 October 1894 – 21 November 1970) was a German historian who specialized in art history and medieval history. Schramm was a Chair and Professor of History at the University of Göttingen from 1929 to 1963. Early life and education Schramm was born to a wealthy and cosmopolitan family in Hamburg, that belonged to the class of Hanseatic families. His father, Max Schramm, was a lawyer, senator and second mayor (i.e. deputy mayor) from 1925 to 1928. His grandfather Ernst Schramm (1812–1882) had been a major sugar merchant in Hamburg and Brazil. His mother Olga O'Swald, grandniece of William Henry O'Swald, also belonged to a prominent Hanseatic family. Major Augustin Schramm (March 2, 1907 in Liberec – May 27, 1948 in Prague) was an ethnic German Czechoslovak communist professional and NKVD agent. He was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ) in 1930s. During World War II Schramm was a political commissar (rank of major) at a training school for partisan parachuters in the USSR, and after the war he was Head of the Partisans‘ Affair Department at KSČ HQ, and at Czechoslovakian Ministry of Defence too, and co-ordinator of his own intelligence network. Schramm was often suspected of playing the key role in the assassination of Jan Masaryk, democratic Foreign Minister, after the Communist takeover of Czechoslovakia on February 25, 1948. Texas Earnest Schramm Jr. (June 2, 1920 – July 15, 2003) was an American football executive who was the original president and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys franchise of the National Football League (NFL). Schramm, usually referred to as "Tex", became the head of the Cowboys when the former expansion team started operations in 1960. Ricky Schramm (born October 26, 1985) is a former American soccer player who played as a forward. College career Schramm grew up in Eastchester, New York. He went on to lead the Fordham Prep Rams to four successful seasons and holds the record for goals scored. After four years at the Prep, Ricky signed with Georgetown University in Washington D.C. In 2003, as a freshman, Ricky led Georgetown scorers with 21 points. Norbert Schramm
Norbert Schramm (born April 7, 1960) is a German former competitive figure skater. He is a two-time European champion, a two-time World silver medalist, and a three-time German national champion. Skating career Schramm began skating at age six. He was coached by Erich Zeller at the national center in Oberstdorf, and skated for the EC Oberstdorf club representing West Germany. Amongst his team members were Rudi Cerne and Heiko Fischer. Along with three national titles, Schramm won gold twice at the European Championships and silver twice at the World Championships. He also attracted media attention for his red costumes, his choreography and spontaneous creativity on ice, as well as for creating new spins and reinventing old forgotten spins. Dave Schramm (born July 20, 1963) is an American college football coach and former player. As a student-athlete, Schramm played quarterback for three colleges: Cornell College, Grossmont College, and Adams State College. Coaching career Schramm has spent over 25 years as an assistant coach. Schramm got his start in coaching with Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, California, where he was an assistant coach from 1984 to 1987. In 1988, he moved to Austin Peay to coach the running backs and tight ends. In 1989, he spent the season as a graduate assistant with Nebraska. San Diego State then hired him as their recruiting coordinator, a position he held from 1990 to 2000.
