Schram City, Illinois
Schram City is a village in Montgomery County, Illinois, United States. The population was 563 at the 2020 census. Geography Schram City is in central Montgomery County and is bordered to the north, west, and south by the city of Hillsboro, the county seat. Illinois Route 16 passes through the village, leading west to the center of Hillsboro and northeast to Nokomis. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Schram City has a total area of , all land. The village is drained by northwest-flowing tributaries of the Middle Fork of Shoal Creek, part of the Kaskaskia River watershed. Lake Hillsboro, a reservoir on one of the unnamed tributaries, is just north of the village limits. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 700 people, 263 households, and 188 families residing in the village. The population density was . Thomas Andreas Finn Schram (9 October 1882 – 15 July 1950) was a Norwegian physician, best known for his endeavor against tuberculosis. Personal life He was born in Kristiania as a son of wholesaler Thomas Andreas Schram (1835–1890) and Mathilde Just (1850–1901). He was a brother of businessperson Jacob Schram and art historian Irma Schram, and thus a brother-in-law of Mads Gram. Another sister Elisabeth was married to Johan Fredrik Gram, a brother of Mads Gram. Kenneth George Schram (December 17, 1947 – May 29, 2014) was an American news and radio broadcaster. He was based in Seattle, Washington and was the former host of local-affairs show ''Town Meeting'' and KOMO 4’s evening news segments called "Schram on the Street." For several years he hosted a radio show, ''The Commentators'', on KOMO Newsradio with conservative John Carlson. That show was discontinued in September 2010. Starting September 20, 2010, Schram and Carlson each began hosting new, separate shows on the same station, with Carlson on from 9:00AM to Noon and Schram from Noon to 3:00PM. Schram is also known for his personal award, the "Schrammie", which he gave out on the air to "underscore what I think are among the worst of bone-headed decision, and/or the most appalling of asinine behavior", usually to local or regional newsmakers. Jacob Christian Just Schram (30 June 1870 – 19 September 1952) was a Norwegian businessperson. Personal life He was born in Kristiania as a son of wholesaler Thomas Andreas Schram (1835–1890) and Mathilde Just (1850–1901). He was a brother of art historian Irma Schram and physician Thomas Schram, and thus a brother-in-law of Mads Gram and Constance Wiel Schram. Schramsberg Vineyards is a winery located in Calistoga, California in the Napa Valley region. The vineyard, which was founded in 1862 by the German immigrant Jacob Schram, produces a series of sparkling wines using the same method as champagne. Frederick Robert Schram (born August 11, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, Chicago, Illinois) is an Americans, American palaeontologist and carcinologist. He received his Bachelor of Science, B.S. in biology from Loyola University Chicago in 1965, and a Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D. on palaeozoology from the University of Chicago in 1968 . He has written over 200 papers on various aspects of crustacean biology, Taxonomy (biology), taxonomy and systematics, as well as several books, including the standard text ''Crustacea'' . In 1983, he founded the journal ''Crustacean Issues'', which he continued to edit for over twenty years.
