Schools In Thailand
Schools in Thailand provide basic education, which covers pre-primary, primary and secondary education. Though most schools provide formal education following the National Curriculum, certain specialised schools may provide non-formal education. Most state schools operate under the auspices of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), local governments, or universities, while private schools operate under the oversight of the Office of the Private Education Commission. There are 37,175 schools in Thailand providing general education as of the 2011 academic year. These include 31,286 schools under the OBEC, 1,726 operated by local governments, 57 university demonstration schools, 414 Phrapariyatidhamma (Buddhist) schools and 3,679 private schools. A school is an educational institution designed to provide learning spaces and learning environments for the teaching of students under the direction of teachers. Most countries have systems of formal education, which is sometimes compulsory. In these systems, students progress through a series of schools. Montfort College
Montfort College ( th, มงฟอร์ตวิทยาลัย) is a private Catholic school in Chiang Mai, Thailand. History The Brothers of St. Gabriel came to Chiang Mai and established Montfort Primary School in 1932 along Charoen Prathet Road on a plot of land provided by Bishop Peross from Luang Anusarn Suntorn who gave his financial support at no interest. The land was located along the Ping River, approximately 200 meters from the Sacred Heart Church. Montfort School opened its first academic year on 16 March 1932. Fr. Grace International School
Grace International School (GIS; , ) is a small international school in Chiang Mai, Thailand that was founded in 1999 for the education of the children of Christian Missionaries living in the area. Fangchanupathum School (Thai: โรงเรียนฝางชนูปถัมภ์) is a public school in Fang District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.
