North Vancouver School District 44 is a school district (also "NVSD") in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The district contains 25 elementary schools, seven secondary schools, and one online school; there are approximately 16,000 students and 2,600 staff. With an annual budget of over $235 million (2023-24 fiscal), the North Vancouver School District manages public schools in the City of North Vancouver and District of North Vancouver and is governed by the North Vancouver Board of Education, which is composed of seven elected trustees. Balmoral Junior Secondary School
Balmoral Junior Secondary School was a public high school in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, part of School District 44 North Vancouver. Since the French immersion program left Balmoral Junior Secondary in 2003, that institution saw declining enrollment, to the point where the school closed in 2009. The property has since been repurposed to hold the grade 8 and 9 classes of Carson Graham Secondary while that school undergoes a facilities upgrade. The Balmoral building, redesignated as the Carson Graham Secondary Balmoral Campus, was phased out in 2012 following the completion of the work at Carson Graham. In 2013 it became Mountainside Secondary School, an alternative school for students between grades 9 and 12. Delbrook Senior Secondary was a public high school from 1957 to 1977 in the District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, part of School District 44 North Vancouver. History Delbrook opened in 1957 as only the second secondary school in North Vancouver (District or City), joining North Vancouver High School which itself opened in 1910.
