School Dayz
''School Dayz'' is the first and only studio album released by child rapper Baby DC. It was released on July 27, 1999 as the first release through Too Short and Jive Records' $hort Records imprint. Bay-Area producer and frequent Too Short collaborator Ant Banks handled most of the album's production. ''School Dayz'' was released before So So Def's Lil' Bow Wow and No Limit's Lil Soldiers and Lil Romeo were releasing charting albums. However, due to limited promotion, ''School Dayz'' did not reach any ''Billboard charts''. However, the single "Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll" did make it to both the R&B and rap charts. Derek Coleman (born January 7, 1986), better known by his stage name Baby DC, is a former American child rapper from Oakland, California. He was signed to Too Short's record label Short Records, and Jive Records. Career Coleman, who first started rapping at the age of five years, made his first official appearance on Too Short's 1995 album, ''Cocktails'' on the track "Thangs Change" with fellow kid rappers, Illegal. That same year he recorded his first solo track "Can I Get Loose", which appeared on The Dangerous Crew's '' Don't Try This at Home''. He is a founding member of the rap group The Click, and the founder of Sick Wid It Records. "Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll" is a song by the American funk group Vaughan Mason & Crew that capitalized on the roller disco fad of the late 1970s. No Limit Records is an American record company founded by Master P. The label's albums were distributed by Priority Records, Universal and Koch Records. The label included artists such as Snoop Dogg, Mercedes, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Mia X, Mac, C-Murder, Magic, Romeo Miller, Fiend, Kane & Abel, and Soulja Slim.
