Herbert Schildt
Herbert Schildt is an American computing author, programmer and musician. He has written books about various programming languages. He was also a founding member of the progressive rock band Starcastle. Life Schildt holds both graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He claims he was a member of the original ANSI committee that standardized the C language in 1989, and the ANSI/ISO committees that updated that standard in 1999, and standardized C++ in 1998. Other members of the ANSI C committee have drawn his presence in the committee and the quality of his committee efforts into question. Schildt has written books about DOS, C, C++, C# and other computer languages. His earliest books were published around 1985 and 1986. Göran Schildt
Göran Schildt (11 March 1917 – 24 January 2009) was a Finnish Swede author and art historian. He was the son of the author Runar Schildt. Life and work Schildt is perhaps best known for his travelogues with the sailboat ''Daphne''. He made the decision to become a Mediterranean sailor after being seriously injured during the Finnish Winter War and forced to spend a year and a half in hospital. "Then I thought that if I can do this, I will realize my dream: I will get a boat and sail around all corners of the Mediterranean," he later said. The architect Alvar Aalto was one of the guests at ''Daphne'' and their lifelong friendship was the basis for Schildt's masterpiece, the three-part biography of Aalto. Ernst Runar Schildt (October 26, 1888, Helsinki – September 29, 1925) was a Swedish-speaking Finnish author from Helsinki. His son was art historian and author Göran Schildt. Although Schildt wrote his books in Swedish, they have also been translated into Finnish, English, French and German. Runar Schildt debuted as a writer in 1912 with his first book, a collection of short stories called ''Den segrande Eros'' (The Victorious Eros). Wolmar Onni Schildt (3 July 1851 – 23 April 1913) was a Finnish politician. He was a member of the Senate of Finland and an agricultural extension practitioner. Schildt was born in Jyväskylä. His parents were District doctor Wolmar Styrbjörn Schildt-Kilpinen and Mathilda Fredrika Wilhelmina Wadenstjerna. She graduated in 1870 and attended the Alnarp Agricultural College in 1875. Melchior Schildt (born 1592 or 1593, Hanover – 18 May 1667) was a German composer and organist of the North German Organ School. He came from a long line of church musicians who had served the town of Hanover for over 125 years. He studied with Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck from 1609 to 1612, and in 1629 replaced his recently deceased father as organist at the Marktkirche in Hanover, where he remained until his death. Michael Timothy Shildt (born August 9, 1968) is an American baseball coach for the San Diego Padres, where he is the team's interim third base coach. After serving as a scout and manager in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system, he served as the first-base coach for the Cardinals in 2017 and was named the club's manager in 2018 after the dismissal of Mike Matheny. The 2019 Cardinals advanced to the National League Championship Series and he was named NL Manager of the Year. The 2020 and 2021 seasons ended in losses at the National League Wild Card Game.
