Schiaparelli (fashion House)
Maison Schiaparelli is a haute couture house created by avant-garde Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli in 1927, and moving towards luxury ready-to-wear after being bought in 2007 by Diego Della Valle. The house is famous for its eccentric fashions, the use of Surrealism in its collections, its sense of humour, the "shocking Pink" color, gender crossing, and its use of human anatomy depictions, among other unconventional themes. The style of the house has been described as "hard chic". The company is located at 21 Place Vendôme in Paris, France. The current creative director has been Daniel Roseberry since 2019. Under Elsa Schiaparelli (1927–1954) Elsa Schiaparelli opened an atelier in Paris in 1927. Her early designs were relatively conservative, with a focus on knitwear. Her business grew over time, employing 400 employees by 1932. Already a long-time collaborator with Man Ray, Schiaparelli began further collaborations with artists from the Surrealist moveme ...

Schiaparelli (lunar Crater)
Schiaparelli is a lunar impact crater located on the western part of the Oceanus Procellarum, to the west of the crater Herodotus. The rim is relatively sharp-edged and relatively free from impact wear. The inner walls have slumped to form a shelf around much of the sides. The interior floor is somewhat irregular, but free from impacts of note. This crater lies in a relatively flat and featureless part of the mare, although a ray streak from the distant crater Glushko passes along the southeastern edge of the rim, making it easy to identify. A low wrinkle ridge runs from the north rim of the crater to the north. Within the crater is a low central rise. Satellite craters By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Schiaparelli. The following craters have been renamed by the IAU. * Schiaparelli B — ''See'' Zinner (crater). * Schiaparelli D — ''See'' Golgi (crater) G ...

Schiaparelli (Martian Crater)
Schiaparelli is an impact crater on Mars, located near the planet's equator at latitude 3° south and longitude 344° in the Sinus Sabaeus quadrangle. It measures approximately 459 kilometers in diameter and was named after Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli, known for his observations of the Red Planet and his mistranslated term "canali". The name was adopted by IAU's Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature in 1973. Description A crater within Schiaparelli shows many layers that may have formed by the wind, volcanoes, or deposition under water. Layers can be a few meters thick or tens of meters thick. Recent research on these layers suggests that ancient climate change on Mars, caused by regular variation in the planet's tilt, may have caused the patterns in layers. On Earth, similar changes (astronomical forcing) of climate results in ice-age cycles and formation of rhythmites. The regular appearance of rock layers suggests that regular changes in climate ...
