Max Ferdinand Scheler (; 22 August 1874 – 19 May 1928) was a German philosopher known for his work in phenomenology, ethics, and philosophical anthropology. Werner Scheler
Werner Scheler (12 September 1923 – 9 October 2018) was a German physician and pharmacologist. Between 1959 and 1971 he worked at the University of Greifswald where he served as the Director of the university's Institute of Pharmacology and as a teaching professor in his subject, subsequently also becoming the University Rector following the death of . Later, between 1979 and 1990, Scheler was the penultimate president of the (East) German Academy of Sciences. Like many leading academics in the German Democratic Republic, Werner Scheler also pursued a career in national politics. At the end of 1978 he was elected to membership of the powerful Party Central Committee. Life Scheler was born at the main hospital in Coburg in what was then central southern Germany. Lucien Scheler (1902 – 23 April 1999) was a French author, poet, publisher, and bookseller who participated in the literary resistance against Nazism. Biography Scheler was born in Kassel, Germany in 1902. He was the grandson of philologist Auguste Scheler. From 1926 to 1928 Scheler and Armand Henneuse ran ''Les écrivains réunis'', a publishing company that edited and published the poems of Michel Seuphor (a monograph on Frans Masereel) and (a monograph on ). During World War II, Scheler lived on Rue de Tournon in Paris, and worked as a bookseller and as an expert in ancient books. He then published ''Bibliographie de France'', which contained works produced by French Resistance writers. Walter Scheler
Walter Scheler (18 April 1923 – 19 August 2008) was, by the time he retired, an East German clerical worker. He participated in the Uprising of 1953 in East Germany as a spokesman for the Coal Workers of Jena. He was then arrested by Soviet occupation troops and sentenced a few days later to spend 25 years in a Labor camp. In the event he received an official pardon in 1961 and was subsequently released. More than three decades later, in 1993, he was formally rehabilitated when the Russian Attorney general nullified the original court decision under which Scheler had been detained.
