Schaumburg ( ) is a village mostly in Cook County and partly in DuPage County in northeastern Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 Census, the population was 78,723. Schaumburg is around northwest of the Chicago Loop and northwest of O'Hare International Airport. It is part of the Golden Corridor. In 2018 ''Money'' magazine ranked the Village of Schaumburg the Best Place to Live in Illinois. In 2017, ''Money'' ranked Schaumburg the 9th-best place to live in the United States. Along with Bolingbrook, Schaumburg has one of Illinois's two IKEA stores. It contains the Woodfield Mall, the 10th largest mall in the United States, which at most times has over 300 stores. Rolling Meadows, Illinois
Rolling Meadows is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 24,200. History In 1836, Orrin Ford became the first landowner in the area that is now Rolling Meadows, staking his claim of in an area known as Plum Grove. Other farm families followed, many traveling from Vermont. By the early 1840s, settlers had built a dam across Salt Creek and had laid claim to the entire Plum Grove area. The community became part of the newly formed Palatine Township in 1850 as German immigrants arrived. Alfred Campanelli (July 9, 1925 – April 9, 2003) was an American suburban housing mogul who was responsible for much of the early suburban-style housing in Schaumburg, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, USA. In 1959, Alfred Campanelli began construction of the first large residential subdivision in Schaumburg, known as Weathersfield, which is located near Springinsguth and Schaumburg Roads. The subdivision now contains several thousand single-family homes built in 22 stages over two decades. In all, Campanelli constructed over 6,800 housing units or approximately 20% of the Village's housing stock.
