Schalkwijk is the largest borough of Haarlem, Netherlands. It has about 30.000 inhabitants, and covers about 25% of the municipality of Haarlem. Stadsdeel
A stadsdeel (; pl. ''stadsdelen''; lit. ''city part'') is the name used for urban or municipality districts in some of the larger municipalities of the Netherlands. Amsterdam calls 7 of its 8 ''deelgemeenten'' ''stadsdeel''. They form a level of government, both executive (''stadsdeelwethouders'') and legislative (''Stadsdeelraad'', a council elected by the inhabitants), and can therefore be regarded as boroughs or ''wards''. Until 2010, Amsterdam had 15 deelgemeenten, but the number has been decreased to eight. Eindhoven's ''stadsdelen'' correspond to the former municipalities that fused into that of Eindhoven in 1920; their use to subdivide Eindhoven is standard on traffic signs and in official documents and publications, but they have no political or administrative independence. Haarlem (; predecessor of ''Harlem'' in English) is a city and municipality in the Netherlands. It is the capital of the province of North Holland. Haarlem is situated at the northern edge of the Randstad, one of the most populated metropolitan areas in Europe; it is also part of the Amsterdam metropolitan area, being located about 15 km to the west of the core city of Amsterdam. Haarlemmerliede
Haarlemmerliede is a small village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Haarlemmermeer and lies about east of Haarlem. Haarlemmerliede was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1857, when it merged with Spaarnwoude. The resulting municipality of Haarlemmerliede en Spaarnwoude was later merged with Haarlemmermeer, in 2019. Haarlemmerliede en Spaarnwoude () is a former municipality in the Netherlands, located in the province of North Holland. It had a population of 5,760 in August 2017. On 1 January 2019, it merged with the municipality of Haarlemmermeer.
