''Scarlet Evil Witching Black'' is the second album by the Greek black metal band Necromantia. It was released in 1995 on Osmose Productions and in 2002 it was re-issued as part of the ''Cults of the Shadow'' double CD. In 2006 the album was re-issued with a bonus track by Black Lotus records as part of a boxed set titled ''Necromantia'' containing the three full lengths and the ''Ancient Pride'' EP. Necromantia
Necromantia was a Greek black metal band that was founded in 1989 in Athens. Alongside Rotting Christ and Varathron, they are considered to be pioneers in establishing the Greek black metal scene in the early 1990s. The band is notable for the complete lack of rhythm guitar in their music, which is substituted by an eight-string bass guitar. Another notable feature is the band's frequent use of musical instruments not usually associated with black metal, such as the saxophone and flute. In November 2019, following the death of founding member Baron Blood, Necromantia announced it would disband after a final, commemorative album titled ''To the Depths We Descend...''. Osmose Productions is a French independent record label created in 1991 by Hervé Herbaut, after he had spent three years running a small mail order company. Manowar is an American heavy metal band from Auburn, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for lyrics based on fantasy (particularly sword and sorcery) and mythology (particularly Norse mythology and Greco-Roman mythology), as well as numerous songs celebrating the genre and its core audience. The band is also known for a loud and emphatic sound.
