Scar Tissue (autobiography)
''Scar Tissue'' is the autobiography of Red Hot Chili Peppers vocalist Anthony Kiedis. It was released in 2004 by Hyperion and authored by Kiedis with Larry Sloman, who compiled information and conducted interviews. The book reached No. 1 on ''The New York Times'' Best Seller List. An audiobook version, read by actor Rider Strong, was released by Phoenix Audio on June 30, 2006. An E-book version is also available. Background The book follows Kiedis's life from his birth in 1962 to early 2004. It follows Kiedis into the depth of his experiences with drug addiction. The title name was taken from the single " Scar Tissue" released five years earlier on the Red Hot Chili Peppers album '' Californication''. Anthony Kiedis
Anthony Kiedis ( ; born November 1, 1962) is an American singer and songwriter. He is a founding member and lead vocalist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Kiedis and his fellow band members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Kiedis spent his youth in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with his mother, and then moved shortly before his twelfth birthday to live with his father in Hollywood. While attending Fairfax High School, Kiedis befriended students Flea and Hillel Slovak, who were members of a band called Anthym. After high school, Kiedis began taking classes at UCLA but dropped out in his sophomore year. When Kiedis received an offer to be the opening act for a local band, he enlisted Flea, Slovak, and drummer Jack Irons. ''Californication'' is the seventh studio album by the American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on June 8, 1999, on Warner Bros. Records. It was produced by Rick Rubin. Along with ''Blood Sugar Sex Magik'', Californication is one of the band’s best selling albums. ''Californication'' marked the return of the guitarist John Frusciante, who had previously appeared on ''Mother's Milk'' and ''Blood Sugar Sex Magik'', and shifted the band's style. The lyrics incorporated the sexual innuendos already associated with the band, but added themes including death, suicide, California, drugs, globalization and travel. I'm With You World Tour
The I'm with You World Tour was a worldwide concert tour by American rock band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers in support of the band's tenth studio album, '' I'm with You''. It marked the band's first tour in four years and first with guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who replaced John Frusciante in 2009. The band was also joined for the first time by backing musicians Mauro Refosco (percussion) and Chris Warren (keyboards). The first North American leg of the tour was briefly postponed due to a leg injury sustained by singer Anthony Kiedis which required surgery. Klinghoffer also broke his foot during the tour; however, no dates were cancelled due to his injury. Mike Benson is an American comic book and television writer and showrunner. Career Benson worked as a writer and co-executive producer on '' The Bernie Mac Show'' and '' Entourage'' with his writing and producing partner Marc Abrams. In 2006, Benson and Abrams founded their own production company Catapult 360, which signed a two-year deal with Universal Media Studios to develop and produce drama, comedy and reality programming. John Thomas Sayles (born September 28, 1950) is an American independent film director, screenwriter, editor, actor, and novelist. Hillel Slovak ( he, הלל סלובק; April 13, 1962 – June 25, 1988) was an Israeli-American musician best known as the founding guitarist of the Los Angeles rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, with whom he recorded two albums. His guitar work was rooted in funk and hard rock, and he often experimented with other genres, including reggae and speed metal. He is considered to have been a major influence on the Red Hot Chili Peppers' early sound.
