Scania OmniTown
The East Lancs OmniTown was a Low-floor bus, low-floor midibus body sold in the United Kingdom by East Lancashire Coachbuilders, East Lancs and Scania AB, Scania. It used the Scania N94UB chassis, which is the single-decker bus, single-decker version of the Scania N94UD, N94UD Double-decker bus, double-decker chassis, with East Lancashire Coachbuilders bodywork. It is sometimes mistakenly referred to as the OmniTown chassis. The confusion concerning the chassis, and indeed the buses, arises due to the complexity of the OmniTown's and other Scania AB, Scania products' histories. History A batch of N94UB chassis were bodied by East Lancashire Coachbuilders, East Lancs. Scania 4-series (bus)
The Scania 4-series low floor city bus and coach range was introduced by Scania in 1997 as a successor to the 3-series bus range. The 4-series bus range was first presented in September 1996, when the integral low-floor city bus OmniCity was revealed. Production of the chassis range started in second half of 1997, and by the end of 1998 all worldwide production facilities had changed from 3-series to 4-series. Unlike the 3-series, which was a range of 45 different chassis models, the 4-series is one basic chassis with different modular configurations depending on usage and customer needs. East Lancs Myllennium
The East Lancs Myllennium was a type of single-decker bus body manufactured by East Lancashire Coachbuilders on DAF SB220, Dennis Dart SLF, MAN 14.220 and Scania OmniTown chassis. It was designed in 1999 as a bus for Millennium Dome routes M1 and M2 operated by London Central, but soon after became available for other operators. It was superseded by the East Lancs Esteem in 2006 Operations United Kingdom The bus has seen orders, the majority of them coming from Arriva North West and First Berkshire & The Thames Valley. The East Lancs OmniDekka (later sold as the Darwen OmniDekka and Optare OmniDekka) is a double-decker bus built for sale in the UK market, introduced by East Lancashire Coachbuilders in 2003. East Thames Buses was the trading name of London Buses Limited, an arms length subsidiary of Transport for London. In 2009, it was sold to the Go-Ahead Group. History East Thames Buses was formed in 1999 to take over the services operated by the failed Harris Bus. It was then retained as an accredited operator to operate services in the event of their contracted operator being unable to do so.
