The Screaming Jets
The Screaming Jets are an Australian hard rock band formed in Newcastle, Australia, in 1989 by frontman Dave Gleeson (vocals), Paul Woseen (bass guitar), Grant Walmsley (guitar)Richard Lara(guitar), and Brad Heaney (drums). The band has three albums that peaked in the top five on the Australian ARIA Charts: '' All for One'' (1991), '' Tear of Thought'' (1992), and ''The Screaming Jets'' (1995). Their 1991 single " Better" reached No. 4 on the related singles chart. Walmsley left in 2007 and formed his own band. In 2013, bassist Paul Woseen released an acoustic solo album, ''Bombido''. Pub Rock (Australia)
Pub rock is a style of Australian rock and roll popular throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and that was still influencing contemporary Australian music in the 2000s. The term came from the venues where most of these bands originally played — inner-city and suburban pubs. These often noisy, hot, small and crowded venues were not always ideal as music venues and favoured loud, simple songs based on drums and electric guitar riffs. The Australian version of pub rock incorporates hard rock, blues rock, and/or progressive rock. Grudge Records
Grudge Records was the Australian record label for Universal Music Australia that mostly promoted Australian rock artists, such as Grinspoon, Skunkhour, and Powderfinger. Other artists include H-Block 101 and Sean Ikin. Grudgefest Grudgefest was a free all ages, non-alcohol event held at Prince Alfred Park in Sydney on 27 September 1997 and organised by Universal Music Australia and Grudge Records. Acts included Bush, Veruca Salt, Bloodhound Gang and Grinspoon. Approximately 20,000 people attended with all money raised at the concert going to the Sydney City Mission to assist homeless people in Australia. rooArt was an Australian independent record label, founded in 1988 by INXS's then-manager, Chris Murphy. The label's roster included several well-known Australian bands and artists such as Crow, Ratcat, Screaming Jets, You Am I, Wendy Matthews, The Hummingbirds, The Trilobites and Amanda Brown. Other bands which made early or first releases on the rooArt label included Hipslingers, The Last Metro, The Lab, The Fauves, Bellicose and Custard. rooArt released a series of three compilation albums of new or then-unsigned acts, called ''Youngblood''. Dave Gleeson
David Sean "Gleeso" Gleeson (born 3 June 1968) is the lead singer of Australian hard rock group The Screaming Jets. He was born in Newcastle, New South Wales and currently resides in Adelaide Hills, South Australia Biography David Sean Gleeson, Note: User may have to click 'Search again' and provide details at 'Enter a title:' e.g Body Bag; or at 'Performer:' Screaming Jets was born in 1968 and grew up in Newcastle. He made his stage debut in 1978, with his school choir at the Abermain Eisteddfod. At 11 years old he won $10 in a talent contest at Cardiff Worker's Club singing "Monster's Holiday" with a friend. Gleeson formed his first rock band, Aspect, in 1985, with school pal, Grant Walmsley.
