The Scala Cinema ( th, โรงภาพยนตร์สกาล่า) was a thousand-seat movie theater in Bangkok, Thailand, named after the Teatro alla Scala, Milan's opera house. Scala opened on 31 December 1969 with a screening of '' The Undefeated'' (1969), a US Western starring John Wayne and Rock Hudson. La Scala is a heritage-listed detached house at 517 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Thomas Ramsay Hall and built . Early life The daughter of an Italian father and an Irish mother, Scala's early life was one of privilege. Emilio "Mim" Scala (born 1940) was the co-founder, with Sir William Pigott-Brown, of the London-based television, film and theatrical agency Scala Brown Associates.
