Scaevola Densifolia
''Scaevola densifolia'' is a species of flowering plant in the family Goodeniaceae. It is a small, spreading shrub with fan-shaped cream or white flowers and is endemic to Western Australia. Description ''Scaevola densifolia'' is a small, prostrate, understorey perennial herb or shrub with hairy stems up to long. The leaves are sessile, oblong shaped, wider at the apex, sometimes in clusters, margins entire or a tooth on either side, long and wide. The flowers are borne in racemes at the end of branches, bracts leaf like. The corolla cream or white, long with thick more or less flattened hairs on the outside, bearded on the inside and the wings up to wide. Flowering occurs mostly from October to December and the fruit is cylinder shaped, long and covered with soft hairs. Roger Charles Carolin (born 1929) is a botanist, pteridologist and formerly an associate professor at Sydney University. He was appointed as a lecturer in botany at the University of Sydney in 1955 earned a Ph.D from Sydney University in 1962 with a thesis on the floral morphology of the campanales,Carolin, R.C. Goodeniaceae
Goodeniaceae is a family (biology), family of flowering plants in the Order (biology), order Asterales. It contains about 404 species in twelve genera. The family is distributed mostly in Australia, except for the genus ''Scaevola (plant), Scaevola'', which is pantropical. Its species are found across most of Australia, being especially common in arid and semi-arid climates. Oldfield River
The Oldfield River is an ephemeral river in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia that rises inland from the South Coast at the edge of the Yilgarn plateau. The river starts at above sea level then flows in a south easterly direction crossing the South Coast Highway near Munglinup. The river gently undulates through sandstone forming gentle valleys with many granite outcrops, the river then carves deeper valleys through the siltstone before entering the coastal plain. The river is then joined by its tributary, the Munglinup River, before flowing into the Oldfield estuary which discharges into the Southern Ocean. The only other tributary of the Oldfield River is Coujinup Creek. Fitzgerald River
The Fitzgerald River is a river in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. Surveyor General John Septimus Roe named the river during expeditions in the area in 1848 after the governor of Western Australia of the day, Charles Fitzgerald. The river rises near the Lake Magenta Nature Reserve about 300 m above sea level then flows in a southerly direction through farmland until it reaches the Fitzgerald River National Park. The headwaters are in a salt lake area where much of the land has been cleared for agricultural purposes; it is estimated that 40% of the catchment has been cleared. Once the river enters the national park it is flowing through unspoilt bush and has cut magnificent gorges into the plateau of spongolite.
