Saúl González Herrera
Saúl González Herrera (14 November 1915 in Vicente Guerrero, Chihuahua, Vicente Guerrero, Chihuahua (state), Chihuahua – 22 October 2006 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Chihuahua) was a Mexicans, Mexican lawyer and politician, affiliated with the Revolutionary Institutional Party (PRI). He served as Governor of Chihuahua from 1985 to 1986. Saúl González Herrera had extensive experience in Chihuahua (state), Chihuahua state politics. He served as Rector of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua from 1959 to 1962, served in the federal Chamber of Deputies (Mexico), Chamber of Deputies during the XLVI Legislature of the Congress of Mexico, 46th Congress (1964 to 1967), and was General Director of the state-controlled corporation Productos Forestales de la Tarahumara (PROFORTARAH) In 1980 Governor Óscar Ornelas appointed him State Treasurer; following Ornelas's forced resignation from the governorship on 19 September 1985, González Herrera was appointed interim govern ... According to the Political Constitution of the Free and Sovereign State of Chihuahua, Executive Power in that Mexican state resides with a single individual, the Constitutional Governor of the Free and Sovereign State of Chihuahua, who is chosen for a period of six years and cannot for any reason be re-elected. The term of governor begins on October 4 of the year of the election and finishes on October 3 after six years have elapsed. Gubernatorial elections are held two years prior to presidential elections. The state of Chihuahua was created on July 6, 1824, as one of the original states of the federation recognized by the 1824 Constitution.
