Michael Saward (political Theorist)
Michael Saward (born 1 September 1960), is an Australian and British professor of politics and international studies at the University of Warwick, He was formerly Reader in Politics at Royal Holloway, University of London, and Professor and Head of Department in politics and international studies at the Open University. He was a Leverhulme Major Research Fellow, 2016–19, is a member of the Sydney Democracy Network and was Director of the Midlands Graduate School, 2013-16. Jill Saward
Jill Saward, also known by her married name Jill Drake (14 January 1965 – 5 January 2017) was an English campaigner on issues relating to sexual violence. She was the victim of a violent robbery and rape in 1986 at a vicarage in Ealing, London, a crime for which the perpetrators' relatively lenient sentences led indirectly to changes in the law. Saward was the first rape victim in Britain to waive her right to anonymity. Background Saward was educated at Lady Margaret School in London. Michael Saward (priest)
Michael John Saward (14 May 193231 January 2015) was a British Anglican priest, author and hymnodist. He was a member of the General Synod of the Church of England from 1975 to 1995 and was Canon Treasurer of St Paul's Cathedral from 1991 to 2000. He was part of a group of clergy who, under the leadership of John Stott, revived evangelicalism in the Church of England. Early life Saward was born on 14 May 1932 in Blackheath, London, England. He was educated at a dame school in Petts Wood, London, and at Eltham College, an independent school in Mottingham, London. He became a practising Christian in 1946. Eric Saward (; born 9 December 1944) is a British radio scriptwriter who worked for the BBC as a television script editor and screenwriter on the science fiction series ''Doctor Who'' from 1982 until 1986. He wrote the stories '' The Visitation'' (1982), ''Earthshock'' (1982), ''Resurrection of the Daleks'' (1984) and ''Revelation of the Daleks'' (1985). James Townsend Saward
James Townshend Saward (1798 – c. 1875) was a Victorian English barrister and forger also known by the nickname of Jem the Penman. In addition to his legal career he forged money orders for almost 30 years. Early life James Townshend Saward was born in 1798 at Rotherhithe in Surrey, the son of James and Elizabeth Ann Saward. He was called to the Bar in 1840, became a barrister and had his chambers in the Inner Temple. With his wife Maria he had a son, Francis (born 1831), and a daughter, Henrietta (born 1837). Jonathan Mark Christopher "Joe" Saward (born 14 July 1961 in London) is a British Formula One journalist. Life and career Saward was educated at Haileybury College and attained a degree in history at Bedford College, University of London. In 1984 he joined '' Autosport'' magazine in London. He began reporting on Formula One in 1988, working alongside Nigel Roebuck and remained as Grand Prix Editor of ''Autosport'' until 1993. Jill Saward (born 9 December 1953) is a British singer, musician and composer, best known for being the lead voice of the English jazz-funk band, Shakatak. Career She began her musical career at the age of 16, with the British progressive jazz rock band Fusion Orchestra, from 1969 to 1972. Jill Saward and the Fusion Orchestra gained a following of fans who secured a record deal with EMI music to produce their first album ''Skeleton in Armour'', an album that immediately received critical acclaim upon its debut, and is now considered a collector's item which is highly sought after. After the band Fusion Orchestra split, Saward became involved in a new all female group, called Brandy. Patrick Saward (17 August 1928 – 20 September 2002) was a professional association football, footballer in the English Football League, English football League and for the Republic of Ireland national football team, Republic of Ireland. He died of Alzheimer's disease in 2002. John Saward (born in 1947) is a Roman Catholic priest. He is Senior Research Fellow at Blackfriars in the University of Oxford in England. He previously held the posts of lecturer in dogmatic theology at St Cuthbert's College, Ushaw (1980–1992), Professor of Systematic Theology at St Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1992–1998), Professor of Dogmatic Theology in the International Theological Institute, Gaming, Austria, and Visiting Professor in Systematic Theology and Christology in the same institute. Michael Saward (British Army Officer)
Major-General Michael Henry Saward (22 December 1840 – 1928) was a British Army officer who became Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey. Military career Saward became a lieutenant in the Royal Artillery in Bengal in 1862. He remained in Bengal throughout his career and was ultimately appointed Assistant Adjutant General of the Royal Artillery in Bengal, a post he only relinquished in 1894.
