Gloria Sawai (20 December 1932 – 20 July 2011), born Gloria Ruth Ostrem in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was an American-born fiction author, based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She died on 20 July 2011. Kazue Sawai
is a Japanese ''koto'' player noted for her performance of contemporary classical music and free improvisation. She began studying, at the age of eight, with Michio Miyagi. She later graduated from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She plays both the 13-string and 17-string kotos. As a soloist, as well as with her koto ensemble, she has performed and worked with John Cage, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Yuji Takahashi, Ayuo, Roberto Carnevale, Sofia Gubaidulina, David Behrman, Carl Stone, and many other composers. Kenichi Sawai
was a Japanese martial artist and a colonel in the Japanese army. Sawai is known for his background in the martial art style Yiquan, his association with founder of Kyokushin Karate, Mas Oyama and influence on various notable early Kyokushin practitioners. Sawai also found his own martial art named Taiki Seisei Kenpo, called Taikiken for short. Background Kenichi Sawai was born in 1903 at the Fukuoka prefecture. He studied martial arts from an early age and acquired fifth-dan grade in judo under Sanpo Toku fourth-dan in kendo, and fourth-dan in Iaido. In 1931, he moved to Manchuria (China). In Beijing, he met and witnessed Wang Xiangzhai, the founder of Yiquan. He made several attempts to defeat Wang, including one where he fought with a shinai whilst Wang used only a stick. is a Japanese anime director and artist. Biography Kōji Sawai was born on September 14, 1955, in Tokyo Japan. Sawai Atsuhiro is a Japanese yoga teacher. Early life and career Sensei was born in 1939 in Japan. He met Nakamura Tempu Sensei in the 1950s, eventually becoming one of his students and obtaining the highest teaching credential in Shinshin-tōitsu-dō, a form of Japanese yoga and meditation. Shinichiro Sawai
was a Japanese film director and screenwriter. Career Born in Hamamatsu, Sawai studied German at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Graduating in 1961, he joined the Toei Company as an assistant director and worked under such directors as Masahiro Makino and Noribumi Suzuki.
