Sawagongo High School is an extra county Christian boys secondary school located in Gem location, Siaya County, Kenya. The school is well known in Siaya county as a top academic performer. The school also excels in extra-curricular activities such as drama, music, soccer, basketball, athletics, hockey and volleyball. Currently the students population is about 3000 students. Siaya County
Siaya County is one of the counties in the former Nyanza Province in the Western part of Kenya. It is bordered by Busia County to the north, Kakamega County and Vihiga County's to the northeast and Kisumu County to the southeast. It shares a water border with Homa Bay County which is located south of Siaya County. The total area of the county is approximately 2,496.1 km2. The county lies between latitude 0° 26' to 0° 18' north and longitude 33° 58' east and 34° 33' west. Siaya has been split up into six new districts. Under the Constitution 2010, the role of districts are still unclear as much of administrative authority is being transferred to the county. The capital is Siaya, even though the largest town is Bondo. Demographics The population in the year 2009 was 842,304. Joe Ageyo is a Kenyan television journalist working for NTV Kenya. Education and career Ageyo is an alumnus of Sawagongo High School. He holds an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester, a Bachelor of Agribusiness Management from Egerton University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi, and a certificate in Advanced Studies in Environmental Diplomacy from the University of Geneva, Switzerland.H]. James Opiyo Wandayi MGH, CBS (born 22 June 1972) is an agricultural and development economist and Kenyan politician currently serving as a Member of Parliament representing the Ugunja Constituency in Siaya County and the leader of minority in the Kenyan Parliament.
