Saw IV (soundtrack)
''Saw IV'' is a 2007 horror film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman from a screenplay by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, and a story by Melton, Dunstan, and Thomas Fenton. It is the fourth installment in the ''Saw'' film series and sequel to 2006's ''Saw III''. The film stars Tobin Bell, Scott Patterson, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, and Lyriq Bent. The film picks up where previous film left off, with the death of John Kramer. However, it is revealed that John had planned for his death and left behind a series of recordings and clues that would lead investigators to his final game. As the detectives try to unravel the mystery of John's final game, they are drawn into a web of deceit and deception that reveals the true motives behind his twisted games. Darren Lynn Bousman
Darren Lynn Bousman (; born January 11, 1979) is an American film director and screenwriter, best known for his work in horror films. He has directed four of the ''Saw'' films: ''Saw II'', ''Saw III'', ''Saw IV'', and '' Spiral''. He also directed the horror musicals ''Repo! The Genetic Opera'' and ''The Devil's Carnival'' movies. Bousman is co-creator and writer of alternate reality games ( ARG) and immersive experiences, ''The Tension Experience'' (2016), ''The Lust Experience'' (2017), ''Theatre Macabre'' (2018), ''iConfidant'' (2020), and ''One Day Die'' (2020). Personal life Bousman was born in Overland Park, Kansas, the son of Nancy and Lynn Bousman. He attended high school at Shawnee Mission North High School in Overland Park, and studied film at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, graduating in 2000. Jigsaw (Saw Character)
John Kramer (colloquially known as "The Jigsaw Killer" or simply "Jigsaw") is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the ''Saw'' franchise. Jigsaw made his debut in the first film of the series, ''Saw'', and appears in all subsequent sequels, with the exception of '' Spiral''. He is portrayed by American actor Tobin Bell. In the series' narrative, John is a former civil engineer dying from an inoperable frontal lobe tumor that had developed from colon cancer. After a suicide attempt, John found a new appreciation for his life, and dedicated the rest of his life to inspiring the same appreciation in others by testing their will to live. His methods include forcing his subjects through deadly scenarios, which he refers to as "games" or "tests", in which they are forced to inflict pain upon themselves or others in order to escape. Billy (Saw)
Billy (commonly known as Jigsaw or combined name Billy Jigsaw) is a puppet that has appeared in the ''Saw'' franchise. It was used by John "Jigsaw" Kramer to communicate with his test subjects by delivering recorded messages, often appearing on a television screen, or occasionally in person, to describe the details of the traps and the means by which the test subjects could survive. In the film series, before becoming the Jigsaw Killer, John created a puppet similar to Billy to be given as a toy to his unborn child. However, Jill Tuck, his wife, is shown to miscarry after being hit in the stomach by a swinging hospital door due to Cecil Adams ramming it open without looking. John's unresolved anger was likely a primary motive for using a more sinister version of the puppet to convey his instructions to victims of his traps. Eric Matthews (Saw)
Detective Eric Matthews is a fictional character from the ''Saw'' franchise. Portrayed by Donnie Wahlberg, he first appeared in a mockumentary entitled ''Full Disclosure Report: Piecing Together Jigsaw'', featured on the uncut version of the original film. He subsequently appeared as the main protagonist of ''Saw II'' (2005), and had a minor role in ''Saw III ''(2006), and again a major role in ''Saw IV ''(2007). Eric's final appearance was in the form of a photograph in ''Saw V'' (2008). Amanda Young is a fictional character in the ''Saw'' franchise. She is portrayed by Shawnee Smith. At first a minor character in the original film, her role expanded to the secondary antagonist in the sequels, giving further backstory for her character.
