Savoi Verem
Savoi-Verem is a village in the Ponda taluka, North Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. Area, population According to the official 2011 Census, Savoi-Verem has an area of 928.62 hectares, a total of 700 households, a population of 3,187 (comprising 1,566 males and 1,621 females) with an under-six years population of 241 (comprising 117 boys and 124 girls). Location In the close vicinity of Savoi-Verem is the Kundaim Industrial Estate (to its west). A number of prominent temples also surround the area. Recent issues In December 2020, leopard sightings were reported in the village. In December 2020 too, a water pumping station was promised for the village. Ponda ''taluka'' is a subdivision of the district of South Goa, Goa state, India. Its administrative headquarters is the township of Ponda. Location It is situated in central part of Goa. It hosts many educational institutes and manufacturing industries. The Belgaum-Panjim highway passes through this taluka. Ponda lies in the centre of Goa. It lies in the North Goa district. North Goa District
North Goa district is one of the two districts that constitutes the state of Goa, India. 2011 Census Of India
The 2011 Census of India or the 15th Indian Census was conducted in two phases, house listing and population enumeration. The House listing phase began on 1 April 2010 and involved the collection of information about all buildings. Information for National Population Register (NPR) was also collected in the first phase, which will be used to issue a 12-digit unique identification number to all registered Indian residents by Unique Identification Authority of India. The second population enumeration phase was conducted between 9 and 28 February 2011. Census has been conducted in India since 1872 and 2011 marks the first time biometric information was collected. According to the provisional reports released on 31 March 2011, the Indian population increased to 1.21 billion with a decadal growth of 17.70%. Leopard
The leopard (''Panthera pardus'') is one of the five extant species in the genus '' Panthera'', a member of the cat family, Felidae. It occurs in a wide range in sub-Saharan Africa, in some parts of Western and Central Asia, Southern Russia, and on the Indian subcontinent to Southeast and East Asia. It is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List because leopard populations are threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation, and are declining in large parts of the global range. Panchayati Raj
The Panchayat raj is a political system, originating from the Indian subcontinent, found mainly in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. It is the oldest system of local government in the Indian subcontinent, and historical mentions date to the 250 CE period.
