Savion Castro

	Savion Castro Savion Castro (born 1994) is an officer and member of Board of Education of the Madison Metropolitan School District, and is the youngest member to ever serve on the board. Early life Castro grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, and attended public schools and graduated from La Follette High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In his early years, he struggled with a learning disability and his family struggled with homelessness, issues which often led to truancy and academic problems. In 6th grade he was selected to participate in a program, with support from Best Buy and the University of Wisconsin, designed to provide a pathway to college. In 2010 he met President Barack Obama during a stop in Madison. 	Madison Metropolitan School District The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) is a public school district headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin. It serves the cities of Madison and Fitchburg, the villages of Shorewood Hills and Maple Bluff, and the towns of Blooming Grove and Burke. The school district includes six high schools, 12 middle schools and 32 elementary schools. General information As of the 2020-2021 school year, the district serves 26,121 students, making it the second largest in Wisconsin. 	Shelia Stubbs Shelia R. Stubbs (born February 22, 1971) is an American politician, pastor, and former probation and parole agent. She is a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, elected in 2018, representing the south and west parts of Madison, Wisconsin. She is also a member of the Dane County Board of Supervisors since 2006 and she is Dane County's first African American representative in the Wisconsin Legislature. From 2006 to 2020, Stubbs was the only African American to serve on the Board of Supervisors, however African American representation on the Board is increasing.
