"Save the Lies" (also known as "Save the Lies (Good to Me)") is the second UK single from Australian singer–songwriter Gabriella Cilmi's debut album, '' Lessons to Be Learned'' (2008). The track listing and cover art were revealed on the singer's official website with a release date of 18 August 2008. It was also released in Australia as the album's third single on 1 November 2008. Cilmi performed the song on ''Australian Idol'' on 20 October 2008. Release and promotion "Save the Lies" began to receive promotion and airplay in late 2008 on the Nova Network. Since then, it has increasingly gained airplay on the Today Network stations at certain times only. In the UK's '' Big Brother 2008'', the song provided the background music to Australian-born Sara's "Best Bits" when she finished in third place. Gabriella Lucia Cilmi ( ; ; born 10 October 1991) is an Australian pop singer. A contralto, Cilmi is known for her distinctive raspy singing voice. Her debut album, ''Lessons to Be Learned'', was released in March 2008, becoming a moderate international success. Cilmi won six ARIA Music Awards, including Single of the Year and Best Female Artist, in 2008. Her second studio album, '' Ten'', was released in March 2010. Her third studio album, ''The Sting'', was released in November 2013. In November 2019, Gabriella released a new six track EP, called ''The Water'', which she said is a taste of what’s to come for a new full-length studio album to be released. Sound Relief
Sound Relief was a multi-venue rock music concert held on 14 March 2009, which was announced by the Premier of Victoria, John Brumby on 24 February 2009. The event was organised by Michael Gudinski, Michael Chugg, Amanda Pelman, Joe Segreto & Tom Lang of IMC/Homebake Festival and Mark Pope to raise funds for those affected by the February 2009 Victorian bushfires. The event was held simultaneously at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Sydney Cricket Ground. All the proceeds from the Melbourne Concert and half of the proceeds of the Sydney Concert went to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal. The other half of the Sydney proceeds went to the Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal to help flood victims. A special presentation was held midway through the concerts, with a satellite link between the two venues.
