Savas (Zembillas)
Metropolitan Savas (Zembillas) of Pittsburgh is the spiritual leader of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh which includes all of Ohio and most of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The Metropolis consists of 53 parishes and six monastic communities which minister to the needs of thousands of Greek Orthodox faithful. The Metropolis offices are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bishop Savas was elected to the office of Metropolitan of Pittsburgh on November 2, 2011, by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople, and was enthroned December 8, 2011 at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Pittsburgh. Savas Mihail Matsas (or Savas Michael Matsas or Savas Michael-Matsas; el, Σάββας Μιχαήλ Μάτσας; born as Sabetai Benaki Matsas (Σαμπετάι Μπενάκη Μάτσας) 1947, Athens) is a Greek Jewish intellectual, leader of the Workers Revolutionary Party (Greece). He is an antizionist and internationalist author of a considerable work of culture about literature, philosophy, religion and class struggle. Tommy A. Savas (born December 20, 1984) is an American actor and producer. He is known for ''Roger Dodger'' (2002), ''Seven Days'' (2007) and ''Extra Butter, Please'' (2011). Early life Savas was born in Harlem, New York City, New York, United States. He was raised in Cresskill, New Jersey, the youngest of four children where, as a child, he showed a strong interest in acting and theatre. His grandfather fought in World War II. By the age of six, he had studied improvisation and acting with Susan Dias Karnovsky and appeared in commercials and HBO and PBS children's productions. Between school work and soccer games, Savas studied privately with Joseph Daly, and at HB Studios in New York under Trudi Stible.
