Savannah is a census-designated place east of Denton, Texas, Denton in Denton County, Texas, United States. The community is a housing subdivision marketed by Huffines Communities and is located entirely within the boundaries of Denton County Fresh Water Supply District#10. As of the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census, Savannah had a population of 3,318. Geography Savannah is located on the north side of U.S. Route 380 in an unincorporated area of Denton County, east of Denton and west of McKinney, Texas, McKinney. It is bordered to the south by land within the town of Little Elm, Texas, Little Elm and east within the city of Prosper, Texas. Education Savannah is served by the Denton Independent School District. Education is accomplished by Savannah Elementary School (grades K-5) within the subdivision; Navo Middle School (grades 6-8), and Braswell High School. North Central Texas College
North Central Texas College (NCTC) is a public community college in Gainesville, Texas. It serves Cooke County, Denton County, and Montague County, Texas. History As with many of the early community colleges, NCTC began as an extension of the local school district. In NCTC's case, a branch of the Gainesville Independent School District known as Gainesville Junior College was proposed by Superintendent Randolph Lee Clark, who previously started a junior college that later became Midwestern State University. The Gainesville college was established May 20, 1924, and held its first classes in the fall of that year. Denton Ryan High School
Billy Ryan High School (Ryan or RHS) is a public high school located in east Denton, Texas. It is the second high school of the Denton Independent School District and classified as a 5A school by the UIL. The original building for the school was built in 1991 and was followed with an expansions in 1994, 2006, and 2008/2009 that added more space for the pre-existing technology and fine arts programs. Billy Ryan High School's cross district rivals are Denton High School and Guyer High School, along with the newly opened Braswell High School and the schools compete annually in various events but most notably, the annual football game named "Battle of The Volt" against Denton High, the "Crosstown Showdown" against Guyer High, and the yet unnamed competition against Braswell High. Denton High School
Denton High School is a public high school located in the city of Denton, Texas and classified as a 5A school by the UIL. It is a part of the Denton Independent School District located in central Denton County and was the original high school for Denton. Denton High School was established in 1884. In 1910 it moved to what is now Calhoun Middle School. In 1957 it moved again to its current location on Fulton Street. In the 1990s, DHS yielded grades 10–12 to the newly opened Ryan High School until 1995. In 2015, the school was rated " Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. After voters approved a May 2018 Capital Improvement Plan, Denton ISD purchased land to rebuild Denton High School at a new location and expand the school land size from 35 acres to 150 acres. Prosper, Texas
Prosper is a town in Collin and Denton counties in the U.S. state of Texas. Prosper is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, its population was 9,423; as of 2020, its population was 30,174. History The first settlers arrived in 1846 to farm cotton in the black fertile prairie soil. Between 1850 and 1902, two settlements existed - Rock Hill was two miles south of the present town and Richland was one mile north. The development of these small communities was expedited in 1876 when county courts ordered small tracts of land to be established for a quick sale. Little Elm is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States, and a part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. It is an extended suburb of Denton; its population was 46,453 as of the 2020 census. In 2000, the census population was at 3,646. By the 2010 census, the city total had jumped to 25,898, making Little Elm one of the fastest-growing municipalities by percentage in Texas since 2000. History Little Elm was established along Lewisville Lake by C.C. "Kit" King, son of John and Delilah King, in 1844. King named the community after the creek banks where it was located.
