Savage Sinusoid
''Savage Sinusoid'' is the third album by Gautier Serre, under his alias Igorrr, released on Metal Blade Records on June 16, 2017. Background Igorrr signed with Metal Blade Records in early 2017. The album was preceded by the singles "ieuD", "Opus Brain", and "Cheval". Unlike previous albums, the album did not feature any samples. Travis Ryan from the band Cattle Decapitation guests on three tracks. Serre cited Taraf de Haïdouks, Cannibal Corpse and Aphex Twin as inspiration for the album. Critical reception The album received critical acclaim. ''Metal Injection'', as well as giving it a perfect 10/10 score, named it the "Batshit Crazy Album of the Year". They concluded in their review, "Igorrr is a project with no boundaries, and the personal belief of creating the art one wants to. Igorrr
Gautier Serre (born June 5, 1984), better known by his stage name Igorrr, is a French musician. Under the Igorrr alias, he combines a variety of disparate genres, including black metal, baroque music, breakcore, and trip hop, into a singular sound. Serre is also part of the groups Whourkr and Corpo-Mente. The Igorrr project became a full band with the addition of vocalists Aphrodite Patoulidou and JB Le Bail, plus the drummer Sylvain Bouvier and the guitarist Martyn Clément. History Solo work (2005–2016) Serre plays piano, drums, and guitar and primarily uses Steinberg Cubase for recording. Mandolin
A mandolin ( it, mandolino ; literally "small mandola") is a stringed musical instrument in the lute family and is generally plucked with a pick. It most commonly has four courses of doubled strings tuned in unison, thus giving a total of 8 strings, although five (10 strings) and six (12 strings) course versions also exist. Sitar
The sitar ( or ; ) is a plucked stringed instrument, originating from the Indian subcontinent, used in Hindustani classical music. The instrument was invented in medieval India, flourished in the 18th century, and arrived at its present form in 19th-century India. Morten Bergeton Iversen
Morten Bergeton Iversen (born 19 November 1974), better known by his stage name Teloch ( ), is a Norwegian black metal musician known for being a live guitarist for Gorgoroth, God Seed and 1349. He is currently the guitarist for Mayhem. Career Teloch's musical career began in the early 1990s in a punk band called Dødsdømt and a thrash/death metal band called Legions from Horten (Vestfold). He founded Nidingr in 1996. That same year they recorded their first demo show 1996 and, in 1999, the second demo. In 2004, he joined the band Orcustus. In 2005 Nidingr published their first studio album, ''Sorrow Infinite and Darkness''. In 2006, he joined the band 1349 as a live guitarist. Erlend Caspersen
Erlend Caspersen (born 1982) is a Norwegian bassist who currently plays in Abhorrent and Igorrr. He also played for Deeds of Flesh, Spawn of Possession and Blood Red Throne. He is notable for his aggressive bass tone and highly technical playing, with a very varied range of techniques, including two-handed tapping, sweeping, and slapping. Biography Caspersen started playing bass when he was twelve; for his 12th birthday he bought his first bass (instead of a bicycle that he had originally intended) because a lot of his friends were in bands. He cited Victor Wooten, Les Claypool and Alex Webster as his biggest influences. Alex Webster cited him as the best death metal bass player of his generation.
