Savage Mark II
The Savage Mark II is a line of bolt-action rimfire rifles made by Savage Arms that are mainly intended for target practice, small game hunting, and recreational shooting. History Established in Lakefield, Ontario, in 1969, Lakefield Arms gained recognition for manufacturing rifles, especially the Lakefield Model 64 and Mark II. In 1995, Savage Arms acquired Lakefield Arms, including its designs and manufacturing capabilities. This acquisition allowed Savage to incorporate established rimfire designs into its product lineup. Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting
On December 14, 2012, a mass shooting occurred at Newtown Public Schools, Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, United States. The perpetrator, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, shot and killed 26 people. The victims were 20 children between six and seven years old, and 6 adult staff members. Single-shot Rifle
In firearm designs, the term single-shot refers to guns that can hold only a single round of ammunition inside and thus must be reloaded manually after every shot. Savage Model 64
Savage Model 64 series is a semi-automatic .22 LR rifle made by Savage Arms in Canada. It operates on a simple blowback action. It is marketed to beginning shooters, small-game hunters, and budget-minded target shooters. It is one of the more popular hunting and target-shooting rifles in the United States due to its accuracy, use of the popular and inexpensive .22 long rifle ammunition, and its low price. Originally introduced as the Cooey Model 64, it came on the market in 1964. The firearm was designed by Hubert Cooey, and was based on the design of the Model 39. The Cooey plant closed in 1979, with many employees and machines moving to Lakefield Arms Company.
