Savage Island (album)
''Savage Island'' is the second solo album and US debut album of New Zealand rapper Savage, released in the US on 23 December 2008, and in New Zealand on 23 February 2009. The album won Savage the award for Best Pacific Urban Artist at the Pacific Music Awards in 2010. It debuted at #12 on the US ''Billboard'' Heatseeker Albums Chart and at #53 on the US ''Billboard'' R&B chart. It soon became a success in the United States selling over 5000 copies and reaching #25 on the ''Billboard'' R&B chart. In the RIANZ Charts it debuted at #9. Singles The first single from the album is a remix of his previous single " Swing" featuring Soulja Boy Tell 'Em which managed to sell over 1.5 million copies by the end of January 2009 and was certified platinum. Demetrius C. Savelio (born 28 June 1981), better known by his stage name Savage, is a New Zealand rapper and a former member of hip hop group the Deceptikonz. Savage was the first New Zealand hip hop artist to have a commercial single achieve platinum certification status in the United States. Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums is a music chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine that ranks R&B and hip hop albums based on sales in the United States and is compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. The chart debuted as Hot R&B LPs in the issue dated January 30, 1965 in an effort by the magazine to further expand into the field of rhythm and blues music. David Keith Dallas (born 28 August 1982) is a hip hop artist from New Zealand of Samoan and European descent.
