Saundra Santiago
Saundra Santiago (born April 13, 1957) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Det. Gina Calabrese in the NBC original crime drama series ''Miami Vice'' (1984–1990). She also played Carmen Santos on the CBS soap opera ''Guiding Light'' and the second Carlotta Vega on the ABC soap opera ''One Life to Live''. Early life Santiago is the daughter of a Cuban father and a Puerto Rican mother. Raised in the South Bronx, New York City, she attended Our Lady of Victory Grammar School. When she was 13 years old, her family moved to Homestead, Florida. Santiago graduated from South Dade Senior High School and attended the University of Miami on a scholarship, majoring in psychology. As a University of Miami student, she became interested in acting. Saundra Edwards (March 12, 1938 - June 2, 2017), was an American actress and model. Career Edwards was ''Playboy'' magazine's Playmate of the Month for the March 1957 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Peter Gowland. In addition to her modeling career for ''Playboy'' and other men's magazines, Edwards, who is part Cherokee, was a showgirl in Las Vegas. Saundra Smokes (October 8, 1954 – August 8, 2012) was an American journalist and playwright. Saundra was a free-lance journalist for 3.5 years and a former employee of ''The Post-Standard'' for more than 30 years. She was a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, inducted into the Syracuse Press Club Wall of Distinction, and was a member of the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Company. She was also a syndicated columnist for 22 newspapers nationwide and won a Cable Ace award for a video drama.
