Sauk Valley Predators
The Sauk Valley Predators are a Premier Basketball League team that began play in the 2012 season. Based in Northwestern Illinois, the Predators play their home games at several sites in the region, including Sterling High School in Sterling, Illinois and Highland Community College in Freeport among others. The Predators team included players such as Carlton Fay (Southern Illinois University), Jereme Richmond (University of Illinois), Mike Rose (Eastern Kentucky) and Herman Favors (Georgia State). Premier Basketball League
The Premier Basketball League, often abbreviated to the PBL, is an American professional men's basketball minor league that began play in January 2008. The league folded after the 2017 season. It was announced that the league would be revived under new management for the 2020 season. The league announced due coronavirus outbreak the season would be put on hold. History 2008 season The PBL was formed after a number of disagreements between several former member teams of the modern American Basketball Association (ABA) and ABA CEO Joe Newman. Eight of the initial ten PBL teams either played in or were slated to play in the ABA. Highland Community College is a public community college in Freeport, Illinois. The college is recognized by the Illinois Community College Board and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Kevin Keathley is a basketball coach and author who is the Director of Player Personnel/Assistant Coach for the Shreveport Mavericks for the 2021 season. Coaching career Lees College Keathley began his career as an assistant coach at Lees College in his home state of Kentucky. He served as the Lees College top assistant and later interim head coach. Saint Catharine College Following his stint at Lees, Keathley joined the coaching staff at Saint Catharine College, where the Patriots averaged 95.6 points per game in 2002. Jereme Richmond (born March 13, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for Obras Sanitarias of the Liga Nacional de Básquet. Richmond was considered a top 25 recruit and #4 at his position in the 2010 class. He played college basketball for the University of Illinois. Michael Rose (born April 6, 1987) is an American professional basketball player for the Knox Raiders of the NBL1. He returns to the Raiders for a second year, where he won the Big V MVP in 2016 as well as making the State Championship. Rose attended Eastern Kentucky University, where he played college basketball, starting in over 100 games, before going on to play professionally in Europe, Australia and Canada.
