Saudi Australians ( ar, , suʿudiyyūn ʼustrāliyyūn) refers to Australian nationals or citizens with origins in Saudi Arabia as well the general Saudi expatriate community in Australia. There are thousands of Saudis living in Australia; they can be found in all major urban centres including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and make up a substantial representation in the Arab Australian community. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has undergone significant cultural and economic reform in the 21st Century; with the introduction of women’s voting rights in 2015 and their right to drive in 2018. In 2016, Saudi Arabia embarked on the Saudi Vision 2030 framework, aiming to expand their international reputation by reducing their economic dependence on oil. Sydney ( ) is the capital city of the state of New South Wales, and the most populous city in both Australia and Oceania. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds Sydney Harbour and extends about towards the Blue Mountains to the west, Hawkesbury to the north, the Royal National Park to the south and Macarthur to the south-west. ''Asian Affairs'', the journal of the Royal Society for Asian Affairs, has been published continuously since 1914 (originally as the ''Journal of the Central Asian Society'', and from 1931 to 1969 as the ''Journal of the Royal Central Asian Society''). It covers a range of social, political, and historical subjects linked to Asia, with a particular focus on current affairs and more recent history. It also is a major source of book reviews. Bilateral relations exist between Australia and Saudi Arabia. Australia has an embassy in Riyadh and a consulate in Jeddah; and Saudi Arabia has an embassy in Canberra and a consulate in Sydney. Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ( ar, سلمان بن عبد العزیز آل سعود, , ; born 31 December 1935) is King of Saudi Arabia, reigning since 2015, and served as Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. The 25th son of Ibn Saud, the founder of Saudi Arabia, he assumed the throne on 23 January 2015. Prior to his accession, he was Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia from 16 June 2012 to 23 January 2015. Salman is the Lists of state leaders by age#Top ten currently serving, 3rd oldest living head of state and the oldest living monarch.
